Taylor Swift has made her return from her post-Eras tour break with an exciting announcement: her upcoming twelfth album, titled The Life of a Showgirl.
While the official release date remains under wraps, fans can expect pre-ordered vinyl records and cassette tapes to be shipped out before October 13, according to her official website. The vinyl features a striking glittery orange hue paired with a green sleeve, with the album cover—a mint green design—showing a cutout of a lock symbol over the disc. Additional details about the album are still under wraps, but the artwork is expected to be revealed at a later time.
In anticipation, Swift’s website displayed a glittery orange countdown to 12:12 ET (9:12 PT). At 9 p.m. ET and 7 p.m. PT, Travis and Jason Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, announced that Taylor Swift would be the special guest for their upcoming episode, premiering at 7 p.m. ET. Fans had been speculating about her appearance, even going as far as Photoshop-editing her into silhouette images used in promotional material. Swift confirmed her participation through a teaser video for the podcast, holding up a blurred image of the vinyl cover. In the clip, she tells her partner, “Such a nice color on you,” referring to the album’s eye-catching orange.
Kelce responded enthusiastically, “Yesss, I know. It’s the color of your eyes, sweetie. That’s why we match so well.” The episode promises to be a lively one, with Swift exclaiming, “We’re about to do a f*cking podcast!” in excitement.
Stay tuned for more updates on The Life of a Showgirl as the release approaches.
