INsiders Guide: X Ambassadors, Girl Tones, Federico Albanese, 3OH!3, Lara Villani…

Alt-rock group X Ambassadors have released “Renegades (Rerecorded)”, a reexamination of the band’s 2015 breakout single. An unapologetic call to live boldly, “Renegades” launched X Ambassadors into the spotlight ahead of the release of their debut album VHS. This year they are excited to celebrate 10 years of the album with the release of VHS(X), a reimagined version of the hit record. VHS(X) will be released on August 29th and is available for pre-save/pre-order now here. Listen to “Renegades (Rerecorded)” here.

Shares front man Sam Nelson Harris: “I didn’t think much of this song at first, I’ll be honest. After I sent it off to Alex the day I wrote it, I didn’t think about it at all. But over the years as I’ve witnessed how much it’s meant to so many people, and the doors it opened for me and the band, it’s grown on me. It’s come to represent something scrappy and authentic about who I am and who we are as a band. Unconventional, in a world of our own, and uniquely us.

In addition to the reimagined record, X Ambassadors will celebrate the 10th anniversary of VHS with the VHS(X) Tour. The North American headline run kicks off on September 2nd and includes two hometown shows in Ithaca, as well as stops in Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, Toronto, Brooklyn, Atlanta, and more. Tickets and VIP packages all upcoming dates are available now at xambassadors.com/tour.

The name on everyone’s tongue, Girl Tones today releases their latest new single “Got It.” Grinding, harsh and positively filthy, the song sees sisters Kenzie and Laila confidently taunting anyone who dares to stand in their paths. Released via Parallel Vision and Big Loud Rock, Girl Tones continue to cement themselves as what’s next in rock music — Stream

On today’s single, Kenzie shared, “‘Got It’ is a very charged song for me. It was born out of anger and defiance. Ultimately it is about holding your ground in the face of uncertainty, and taking that leap of faith to fulfill your dreams.”

This past winter, XXIM Records released Blackbirds And The Sun Of October, the latest album from Italian artist, producer, pianist and composer Federico Albanese. His fifth studio album, and the follow up to his debut release for the label, the 7-track EP, Days Of PassageBlackbirds And The Sun Of October was inspired by – and entirely written and recorded in – Albanese’s home region of Monferrato in Northern Italy. “It’s an album about coming home, and reconnection,” he says. “Above all, about heritage.”

This release, his first full length album for XXIM Records, marks a new chapter in his already stellar career. Restlessly creative, Albanese’s ever-evolving quest for new sounds and experimentation has been more extensive than most.

Today, Albanese announces a string of fall and summer European tour dates. He has also shared the new single“First Poem.” On the composition, he elaborates: “The album recording was finished when ‘First Poem’ arrived. I wasn’t writing with intention anymore -just playing, letting my hands wander. But something about this piece felt different. It was quieter, simpler, and more vulnerable than anything I’d planned to include. It didn’t sound like the rest. It didn’t sound like me, really. But maybe that’s why it stayed. Sometimes the most honest moments come when you stop trying to say anything at all. It’s like this piece said something I didn’t know I needed to say.”

Summer’s heating up and 3OH!3 have just the thing to cool you off. The alternative duo is excited to share “SLUSHIE”, a sweet and sultry new single that’ll have you craving that icy goodness. Fans can stream “SLUSHIE”, 3OH!3’s first release in five years, here: https://sndo.ffm.to/jw4xoaz. Watch the brand new lyric video here: https://youtu.be/5I_4xW3cil8

The band shares: “All the best parties take place within walking distance of a SLUSHIE machine, the perfect cure for a hot, sweaty afternoon. Go ahead, show up to the party with your tongue purple, red, Teenage Ninja Mutant Ninja Turtle green, royal blue… get it how you wanna get it. We hope you enjoy ‘SLUSHIE’, a mix of all our favorite flavors, built to blast with the windows down!

Fans can look forward to hearing “SLUSHIE” live for the first time this summer. In addition to festival appearances at Vans Warped Tour (Long Beach + Orlando) as well as Mississippi Valley Fair (Davenport), 3OH!3 will be on the road for a full US tour with Simple Plan, Bowling For Soup, and LØLØ. The Bigger Than You Think Tour kicks off on August 9th in Seattle, with stops to follow in Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, Asbury Park, Atlanta, Houston, and more. Tickets for all upcoming shows are on sale now and available at https://www.3oh3.com.

Lara Villani is set to turn heartbreak into high art with the release of her latest single,
‘Make it go away’, July 16 This marks the final taste of her highly anticipated debut EP, ‘Whiplash’, landing in October 2025. ‘Make it go away’ finds Lara at her most vulnerable and magnetic, weaving together pop, and raw, confessional lyricism. The track dives into the ache of holding onto love that’s slipping through your fingers, a bittersweet anthem for anyone who’s ever wanted to let go, but couldn’t quite cut the cord. “This song is about knowing a relationship isn’t working, but still hoping they’ll love you back the way you love them,” Lara shares. “It’s painful, but it’s also beautiful, and there’s power in letting yourself feel it all.” Accompanying the release is a music video produced by Hunger Digital – co-directed by Laura Semple and Lousie McKnoulty. The clip showcases Lara Villani reflecting on a past relationship. “I wanted to capture a visual world where you see the artist reminiscing on the fun times had with someone special, with snippets of knowing they’re not 100% into you as much as you are into them,” says Laura on the music video. Each clip from the EP continues the story of ‘Whiplash’ – the throes of love, lust and romance while coming into your own.

The Antlers – the beloved band and recording project of Peter Silberman – have announced their eagerly awaited new album, Blight, arriving via Transgressive Records on Friday, October 10. Pre-orders/pre-saves are available now. The Antlers’ first new studio album in over four years, Blight, is heralded by today’s premiere of the volatile “Carnage,” available at all digital services now. A roadkill murder ballad that lurks in a brooding crawl before erupting into full-band maelstrom, the track sees singer-songwriter-guitarist-producer Peter Silberman’s roaring Telecaster swarming around longtime collaborator Michael Lerner’s cacophonous drumming, harnessing an energy the band has long conjured in a live setting but until now never put to tape.

“‘Carnage’ is a song about a kind of violence we rarely acknowledge — violence not born of cruelty, but of convenience,” says Peter Silberman. “Innocent creatures are swept up in the path of destruction as their world collides with ours, and we barely notice.”

New York City electronic post-punk band Public Circuit today releases their next single “To The Grave.” A slice of melancholic electro-pop from their upcoming record Modern Church, the album will be released in full on September 12 via à La Carte Records. “To The Grave” intensely twinkles and crashes as the band reels against the parts of themselves they refuse to push back down — Stream

The band shared, “Life is frail – Many people live a life where they never fully resolve trauma, hatred, etc., and, therefore, take it to the grave with them. Whether it be childhood trauma, gender expression / exploration, or failed romances; this song is inspired by moments left unresolved or, otherwise, unspoken.”

GRAMMY winning artist and founding member of Morgan Heritage, Mojo Morgan, has released his anthemic new single “Dreams,” paired with the announcement of his long awaited EP Jamaica Love slated for this August 29. The pre-order launch can be found here

Sydney Sprague has released another new single from her very anticipated upcoming album ‘Peak Experience’ out September 26. “Long Island” is half prayer, half spiral with lyrics blurring the tension between impulse and restraint. You can stream the song on all digital platforms via this link and watch the music video here at 2pm ET.

“When you have to choose between connection and self-preservation because the truth is too messy or just too impossible to communicate,” says Sydney on the new song. “It’s a desperate plea for a moment of relief from the horrors. It’s a genuine request for another long island iced tea.”

Sydney’s upcoming album ‘Peak Experience’ is a coming-of-age soundtrack for the chronically anxious and melodically inclined. Hailing from the sweltering surrealism of Phoenix, Arizona, she channels the heat and heaviness of modern existence into sharply crafted songs that balance existential dread with cathartic guitar riffs. Building on the raw honesty and sharp wit that earned her early acclaim from NPR, Refinery29, and Guitar World, ‘Peak Experience’ feels like the culmination of years spent touring, overthinking, and writing her way through it all. It’s an album for anyone who’s ever spiraled at 2 a.m., found solace in a chorus, or wondered if maybe the best way to process life is to just turn it into a song.

Long Island” follows the previously released singles and music videos for ”Flat Circle” “Fair Field” and “As Scared As Can Be”, which can also be found on the upcoming album.

Maryland rock band Have Mercy released a new single and music video for the vulnerable track “tv glows.” This is the second single off their long-awaited sixth studio record the loneliest place i’ve ever been. It is set for release on August 29th via Rude Records
