INsiders Guide: Reese Goode, Liquid Mike, Fime, Bones Shredder, Gina Zo…

Young female artist, Reese Goode, releases a new single, Texas Boy from her forthcoming debut EP. This track is a country ballad about craving the gaze of someone who doesn’t quite see you. Texas Boy explores the thoughts that go through your head when developing feelings for a person.

Born and raised in Texas, 17-year-old Reese Goode has built her musical foundation on a deep love of singing, guitar, and storytelling. She draws inspiration from country icons like Megan Moroney, Carrie Underwood, and Miranda Lambert, and her sound pays tribute to the genre while pushing it forward. Produced by Don Miggs (Dolly Parton, Mick Fleetwood) and written by Reese, “Texas Boy” blends the sounds of acoustic guitars with hard-hitting drums and a melodic vocal performance. This track gives flashbacks to the early days of Taylor Swift with songs like “Tim McGraw”.

This is a song I wrote for someone when I liked them and they barely knew me,” says Reese. “Sometimes we like people and can’t get them out of our heads”.

Reese is set to make her highly anticipated Los Angeles debut with a single release performance at the iconic Hotel Ziggy on July 23, 2025. She’ll take the stage as part of the We Found New Music Artist Showcase, known for spotlighting some of the most buzzworthy emerging talent in the industry. Tickets are available here.

Liquid Mike sharpens their “Claws” on this new song that captures the anxiety of sleeplessness, when rest feels just as punishing as being awake. It’s a standout from their upcoming album Hell Is An Airport, a riff-heavy ode to being stuck in limbo. A raucous, sardonic, and deeply real portrait of life & longing, the record uses the metaphor of airport travel to stand in for the bleak liminal space between where you are and where you want to be.

Fime just can’t win, and they’re perfectly fine with that.

Through a fury of melodic fuzz and existential crunch, the Los Angeles-based band capture the comedown of chasing your dreams with their new album, Just Can’t Win. Out September 5, it’s easily their heaviest record thematically, and musically it channels the multi-faceted rock of bands like Militarie Gun, Glitterer, and Guided By Voices.

Earlier this year, Fime shared the early first preview of Just Can’t Win with the ode to pay inequality “Better Half of a Dollar,” and now they share another side of the record with “Soft Science.”

Vocalist Beto Brakmo’s rugged vocal delivery and glimmering guitar leads burst through the door on this standout single—a mid-tempo gut punch about coming to terms with your flaws that later shape shifts into a soaring anthem of desperation.

Later this month, Bones Shredder, the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Randy Moore, will share “Sky is Falling,” the cathartic, hook-heavy second single off his forthcoming debut album Morbid Little Thing, due September 19 on Moore’s own Sunken Teeth Records.
Propelled by power-pop guitars, pulsing rhythm, and Lucy Giles’ (Dog Party) airy harmonies, “Sky is Falling” celebrates the rare comfort of having someone who makes the chaos of the world feel distant.

“Initially, I was hesitant to record this song because I was worried it wouldn’t fit with the rest of the record,” Moore admits, “but then I realized the album could be whatever I wanted. Henry Chadwick’s production and my brother Dylan’s drums turned the song into something special that I love listening back to. The song is about that person whose presence makes you feel safe and understood – I hope everyone finds someone like that.”

Gina Zo, a powerhouse vocalist hailing from the suburbs of Philadelphia and now making waves in LA, is not just a rock-pop singer-songwriter—she’s a beacon of authenticity and empowerment within every performance, song, and beat. With her bisexuality boldly declared in her 2023 anthem “Faking It,” Gina has transformed her personal journey into a powerful narrative for the LGBTQIA+ community, proving that true identity is a form of rebellion against conformity and that the tribe you ride with is where you truly belong. Her journey was further shaped by her time on The Voice as a member of Team Blake, where Gwen Stefani’s mentorship led her to discover a unique authenticity within herself—so profound that it brought her to tears after their first meeting, as Stefani challenged her to be more genuine.

Her musical influences, from the soulful strains of Norah Jones to the mystical allure of Stevie Nicks, shaped her artistry from a young age. Family moments with her grandparents in her youth were spent dancing with flashlights as strobe lights and singing into makeshift microphones—laying the foundation for a passion that would later ignite her career. Gina’s early days were a whirlwind of homemade videos and impromptu performances, a testament to her unyielding spirit.

At just 18, Gina signed with an indie label in Philadelphia, where she soon faced the harsh realities of the music industry. Disillusioned by its darker side, she stepped away, only to feel an undeniable pull back to her true calling after a breakup that left her reaching for her lost identity. Reuniting with her original band, she forged Velvet Rouge, a rock band that embodies defiance and the pursuit of artistic freedom.

Velvet Rouge’s debut EP, released in 2024, is a visceral journey through Gina’s soul. From the haunting truth of being with someone you never loved in “Lonely Since The Day We Met” to the deep conflict of not knowing who you are or what you should be in “I Don’t Know Why,” the EP resonates with raw, unapologetic emotion. Produced by the esteemed Brian McTear and Amy Morrissey (The War on Drugs, Dr. Dog, Sharon Van Etten), it channels the gritty essence of early 2000s rock and ‘90s grit, offering a soundtrack to the struggles and triumphs of self-discovery.

“Singer-songwriter and producer, Olivia Reid is one of those rare talents that blends multi-layered production techniques and heartbreaking lyricism to create a complexity of evocative pop sounds that’s unlike any other music coming out.” – Earmilk, Artist to Watch Feature

A calming vocalist with a strong pen, songs by Olivia Reid rest well within the soul, with tempos mirroring the pace of a steady heartbeat, and lyrics that articulate the most intimate parts of the human experience. Her production style blends indie acoustics with exploratory electronic pop soundscapes, joining the ranks of genre-bending peers such as Sylvan Esso, Florence & The Machine, and Maggie Rogers. Reid’s performances has connected with audiences around the world, from opening for artists such as Slenderbodies, Giant Rooks, and AJ Mitchell to electronic collaborations such as “Time is Mine” with Kidswaste and “Above the Clouds” with SŸDE – a track with over 30 Million streams and a gold record certification in Australia.

Following her debut EP Earth Water in 2021, Olivia Reid captured audiences with her 2023 project TO BE NAMED BY THE PEOPLE, which garnered praise from leading music blogs and touting DSP nods including Apple Music’s Happy Pop, Spotify’s Folk ArcInfinite FolkFemme Fatale, and Noteable Releases. Fall of 2024 welcomed the start of an intimate new project, Space to Roam, produced by Olivia alongside Tim Atlas, So Wylie, and Benji Cormack of Slenderbodies and featuring fan favorite singles “Love Don’t Leave” and “Quite Simple.” The project has already found new global love on playlists such as Spotify’s Fresh Finds and Noteable, Apple Music’s Pop Latte and Breakfast in Bed, and Tidal’s Folk: Rising.

‘You only love me when I’m leaving’ TABI sings, a profound and all too relatable lyric embedded in the catchy chorus of ‘Leaving’. The production is silky, smooth and classy with an old school feel reminiscent of the 60s. The electric guitar blends beautifully with TABI’s melodic vocals creating an edgy, sparkly indie-pop sound.

The added keys and drumbeats effortlessly bring this stunning indie pop song to life even more. The track builds to the bridge – creating a beautiful sound with sweeping harmonies and layered vocals.

Leaving’ is an empowering track that doesn’t mess around, and it showcases TABI’s talent as an artist. Inspired by the likes of Duffy, Fiona Apple and Amy Winehouse – TABI has developed a sound that is very unique but at the same time familiar, the best of both worlds.

Not feeling appreciated and knowing you deserve more but at the same time not wanting to let go. These are some of the themes that TABI touches on beautifully in ‘Leaving’, encouraging an open conversation with her audience. Fresh off the back of her success with ‘Write a Song About’ and debut single ‘Love Like Drugs’, ‘Leaving’ has come at the perfect time, adding to the hype and buzz around TABIGorillaz guitarist Jeff Wooten wrote: ‘So good, she can go all the way’ after hearing TABI’s music. TABI intends to go all the way, and is aware of the importance of using her voice and platform to make the world a better place.

Speaking on the single, TABI said: “‘Leaving’ is a song inspired by personal experience that challenges the all-too-common cycle of love only being realised once it’s lost. The song captures the moment of reclaiming control when the other person finally decides they want you back – too little, too late. It’s a message to everyone: stop taking love for granted. Appreciate the people you care about while they’re still here, because you can’t expect them to wait around for you to finally show up. Why can you only love something/someone when it’s taken away? Leaving is a call to action for anyone stuck in a one-sided relationship, reminding them that they deserve someone who shows their love every single day, not just when it’s convenient. It’s a promise that a better, more fulfilling love exists: one where you are seen and valued the way you deserve.”

Oklahoma-based dream-pop duo Sports, comprised of longtime collaborators Cale Chronister and Christian Theriot, make a shimmering return with their groovy new single, If You Want Me, which acts as the first glimpse into a bold new chapter of their career.
