Netflix has released the first teaser for its upcoming series Boots, a comedic drama centered around a closeted Marine recruit. Boots is a one-hour series inspired by Greg Cope White’s memoir The Pink Marine. Set in the 1990s, during a time when openly gay service members faced legal prohibitions, the show explores the story of Cameron Cope, a closeted teen who, along with his best friend, enlists in the Marines.
The cast includes Miles Heizer as Cameron, Liam Oh as his best friend Ray, Vera Farmiga as Cameron’s self-absorbed mother Barbara, and Max Parker as Sergeant Sullivan. The series also features Cedrick Cooper, Ana Ayora, Angus O’Brien, Dominic Goodman, Kieron Moore, Nicholas Logan, Rico Pairs, and others. Showrunners Andy Parker and Jennifer Cecil are behind the project.
