Elisabeth Moss Gives Update On ‘The Invisible Man 2’

Five years after its debut, Elisabeth Moss has spoken openly about the lengthy development process of The Invisible Man 2. Although the project was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the film still fared well at the global box office, grossing over $145 million worldwide against an estimated budget of around $7 million. In a recent interview with ScreenRant, Moss confirmed that the sequel is still in progress, emphasizing that the team is taking their time to craft the right story.

“We could have easily rushed out a sequel and just released it on streaming platforms, making quick money,” Moss said. “But I’m incredibly grateful to Universal and Blumhouse for holding firm and not doing that. They have a standard that’s quite rare these days, and they genuinely want the sequel to be worth it. It’s a bit unusual, but I think it’s really important. We love that first movie so much, and everyone involved is really proud of it.”

She added, “We want to ensure that if we do a sequel, it’s truly worth it and possibly even better than the original. That’s what has slowed us down a bit. But I don’t see that as a bad thing. If we’re going to do it, it has to be right. We’re still working on it—we just need to find the perfect script.”

The Invisible Man was written, directed, and executive-produced by Leigh Whannell, one of the original minds behind the Saw franchise. The film also starred Aldis Hodge, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Storm Reid, Harriet Dyer, and Michael Dorman.
