Indie pop singer-songwriter Grace Annabella Anderson has released her new single “Halfway,” an infectious blend of indie pop with a country flair delivered as a biting, wry anthem of empowerment.

With a sound she describes as Jane Austen meets Joni Mitchell meets Lizzy McAlpine,“Halfway” pairs bright indie pop textures with twangy, country inspired style, revealing a witty and refined side of Anderson’s songwriting not yet explored in her catalog.
Anchored by the incisive line “I’m not the competing sort, especially if you’re my reward,” the track takes aim at inflated egos and lowered expectations, transforming frustration into empowerment.
“This was one of my very favorite songs to write,” Anderson explains. “While I found its inciting situation to be frustrating, I was able to reclaim a sense of empowerment and joy in relaying through music what I believe to be an unfortunately common female experience of navigating an over inflated male ego.”
Anderson describes the track as “infectious, biting, fun, and wry.” With its tongue-in-cheek candor and playful delivery, “Halfway” celebrates self worth while skewering the bare minimum.
“I looked around at my own situation, which paralleled so many of my friends’, and this song became a celebration of the bar descending to new lows,” she adds. “It’s an ode to men who, equipped with condescension and self-importance, put in a fraction of effort and consideration and then expect us to applaud them. Who think if we don’t reward the bare minimum, we’re not meeting them halfway.”

genre-blending collective 2ŁØT releases “Sacrifice (Albert Harvey Remix),” the first single from their newly announced EP, The Albert Harvey Remixes, out October 24th. The EP reimagines four tracks from the band’s critically praised debut album Entropy, with all remixes helmed by acclaimed Dutch producer Albert Harvey – whose past work includes collaborations with David Guetta, Avicii, Armin van Buuren, Stargate, Afrojack, and more.
A longtime innovator in electronic music, Harvey brings both global dancefloor experience and deep musicality to the project. With a reputation for blending soulful instrumentation with explosive production, Harvey was a natural fit to reinterpret 2ŁØT’s immersive, live-instrument-based sound through an entirely new lens.

Welsh born, Yorkshire living Soul/Jazz artist Kat Eaton reveals her brand new single ‘Break Free’ along with a run of UK & EU tour dates. Watch the live performance video here.
“Break Free is about finally letting go of control of things and letting the current take you to where you need to go. When self-preservation ends up feeling more like self-denial that’s the moment we need to accept our circumstances and break the cycle”, comments Kat on the track.
‘Break Free’ is the first single from Kat Eaton’s upcoming third studio album ‘What Happens Now’, due March 2026 on her own label Reason & Rhyme Records.
Kat has established herself as one of the hardest working and talented performers in her field. Having already toured the UK/EU supporting the likes of Gregory Porter, Jools Holland, Paul Carrack, The Teskey Brothers, Marc Broussard and Mamas Gun, alongside selling out multiple headline shows in the UK and EU (Ronnie Scotts in London, Unterfhart Jazz Club in Munich, Jazz Club Etoile in Paris and Jassmine in Warsaw among others), she’s also co-written with the likes of Caro Emerald, Ruby Turner and Roberta Campos, and broken through to new territories via national radio play-listing in The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France and Italy.
2021 saw Kat release her acclaimed debut album ‘Talk To Me’, and has seen support across BBC Radio 2 & 4, 6Music and Jazz FM in the UK, NPO 5 2 & 1 in The Netherlands, VRT Radio 2 in Belgium, FIP in France. Whereas some debut albums show artists still finding their feet and sonic direction, the record cemented Kat as unashamedly bold & confident in her abilities as a vocalist and songwriter.
Her long awaited second album ‘Honestly’ is the perfect evolution, effortlessly merging Soul and Classic R&B with Blues and Gospel. Having had equally great radio support in both UK & EU with her 2nd record, ’Honestly’ was well received by critics and led to appearances at prestigious festivals, Jazz A Toute Heure and St Paul Funk & Soul in France, Cornbury Festival and Henley Festival in UK, Cork Jazz Festival in Ireland, Leverkusen Jazz Festival and Rheingau Musik Festival in Germany. Her live performance videos on YouTube (3 live versions of tracks from ‘Honestly’) received over 500k views in the first 6 months increasing Kat’s fan base immeasurably and Kat now has over 10M streams on Spotify.

Rising alternative-electronic artist and sound designer King Kaye has unveiled his new visual for “if i get burned at the stake, you’re coming with me,” out now! The stripped down track’s accompanying video, cinematically inspired by French New Wave films such as La Jetée and Breathless, takes viewers into a dream where King Kaye has a deep conversation with his father and is confronted by his shadow self. An ode to his previous projects and earlier sound, the track was his first piece of The Dark Side of Enlightenment that came to fruition and remained the true inspiration for the entire project.
“When the words ‘if I get burned at the stake, you’re coming with me’ were first spoken to me, the reaction I had was strange,” says King Kaye as he explains the origins of the release. “I couldn’t describe it. It caught me off guard, it pulled me in, kinda turned me on a bit. The whole song and video came out that same night. It’s a fantasy/drama about two individuals that are trying to find themselves in the world we live in now. Not even the occult and spirituality seem strange anymore.”
“The music video is a clip from my short film,” he explains further. “Through an interview with my father, who recently has become handicapped, it helped me tie in where these feelings were coming from. I hope an observer can find peace in the video knowing that we all have similar experiences, and that we’re all in this together.”

Melbourne/San Francisco alt-pop artist & producer ROHAN softly delivers the blunt truth of a bitter breakup with “Killing Her Softly With My Song” out today with a retro, vibrant visualizer. The acoustic-forward ballad takes its name from Roberta Flack’s “Killing Me Softly With His Song” that the artist found via one of his favorite artists and inspirations, Lauryn Hill and Fugees.
Drenched in nostalgia and old-school folk/Americana with a modern twist, the track feels both timeless and confrontational — a breakup letter disguised as an autumn lullaby. The track was self-produced and recorded between ROHAN’s bedrooms in Melbourne and San Francisco and one of the primary studios, Hyde Street Studios, in San Francisco. GRAMMY-nominated Scott McDowell helped engineer it.
On the honest, intimate track, ROHAN shares, “It represents the other side of Lauryn Hill’s perspective — instead of being the one undone by someone else’s song, I’m the one “strumming [her] pain with [my] song”, “telling [her] whole life with [my] words” and “killing [her] softly” with the truth she doesn’t want to hear. The song embodies the contradiction of using tenderness to deliver judgement, channeling my dismay into something sweet and melodic. Not a lot of other cheekily confrontational & blunt songs feature acoustic guitars, pedal steel, tambourine, harmonies, and violins.”

the Albany-raised pop-punk band State Champs released a new music video for their latest single, “Common Sense,” via Pure Noise Records. It’s a punchy, high-energy track that’s packed with the band’s signature catchy hooks and dynamic guitars, while showcasing a heavier side to their evolving sound.
The band shared their sentiments on the new track below:
“We couldn’t wait to share the video for Common Sense. This song is deeply personal to us. When we were picking a director, we knew that Lupe could bring the emotions of the song to life in a beautiful way. Go check it out!”
This is the first song the band has put out since their self-titled record came out in November 2024. The album marked a new chapter for the band, showcasing their evolution while staying true to their roots. It featured hit singles including “Light Blue,” “Too Late To Say,” and “Silver Cloud.” The album received praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, AltPress, Rock Sound and New Noise Magazine, admiring its blend of nostalgic Warped Tour-era energy and modern pop punk sounds. It cemented them as torchbearers on the scene and is one of the band’s most celebrated albums to date.
This month the band will be on tour with A Day to Remember and Yellowcard for select dates. Later this year, they will do a small run of shows in Michigan, Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Maryland, and Virgina at a few intimate venues with friends Stateside and Super Sometimes. They will also be performing at several music festivals including Vans Warped Tour Orlando on November 15 – 16 and Aftershock Festival on October 2. They will also be back on the Emo’s Not Dead Cruise in January 2026.

Folk duo Haunted Like Human – Dale Chapman (they/them) and Cody Clark (he/him) – return with a new album, American Mythology, this fall.
It’s been four years since the release of 2021’s Tall Tales & Fables, driven by the success of singles “Ohio” (featured on Spotify’s “Indie Bluegrass playlist in October 2021), and “Run Devil Run,” which recently had a viral TikTok moment, catapulting the song to 1 million + streams.
In that time, Dale and Cody have been refining their sound rather than departing from it. The result is American Mythology, a shapely set of songs that borrow from universal lore in order to reveal intimate truths.
Today, they share the first single, “Married In Savannah,” a bittersweet folk song about watching someone close to you change. “At its core, its a song about growing up and growing into very different people from the ones that you thought you knew,” explains Chapman.
The themes are universal whether describing a lover, a friend, or anyone else. “What a shame to see a wild thing be tamed,” Chapman sings, their voice akin to Florence Welch’s mezzo-soprano.
American Mythology will be released independently on October 17, 2025.

Kansas City duo Katy Guillen & The Drive – led by music + life partners Katy Guillen (vocals/guitar) and Stephanie Williams (drums) – prides itself on fostering empowered spaces for women in music both onstage and off. This core value heavily influenced the band’s second full-length effort Make That Sound, produced by Megan McCormick (Allison Russell, Amythyst Kiah), due October 17, 2025 via Are and Be Recordings.
The driving, melodic rocker and second single, “Outcome,” out August 22, gives a taste of what’s to come from the new album. “The song is a call to push through self doubt and create your space in the world. You can steer the outcome. It’s about finding your voice and going for what you want in life, no matter the challenges or hurdles you face,” says Katy.
“[Outcome”] rattles with a relentless rock vibe, combining Wet Leg’s modern edge and Courtney Barnett’s knack for guitar-based hooks. With screaming guitar and ferocious chops, this power duo leaves nothing to the imagination, with a kick-ass throwback garage rock presentation.” – Glide Magazine
