Hardcore collective Feldspar are back with “Pasta Day,” a blistering new single set for release on World Food Day, October 16, 2025, via Time To Kill Records. Both defiant and deeply human, the track marks a new chapter for the Rome-based outfit — one that’s raw, tense, and deliberately unresolved.

Recorded and mixed at Black Water Studios by Nick Terry (Turbonegro, The Libertines, The Stone Roses, Peaches), “Pasta Day” extends the sonic and social thread woven through the band’s acclaimed 2024 debut “Old City New Ruins.” Feldspar once again fused hardcore’s ferocity with spoken-word immediacy and melodic grit, channeling their energy into a song that doubles as a rallying cry.

Frontman Riccardo Zammuri frames it best: “A plate of pasta is more than food. It’s a gesture. It means sharing, care, and inclusion. ‘Pasta Day’ takes this powerful symbol and flips it into a protest anthem: a reminder not to forget those who are too often left behind in our cities and capitals. It’s a song about informal solidarity, the kind that happens between peers, and about the vital role of organized, structured support systems in today’s fractured society.”

The single arrives alongside an official video directed by Roberto “Saku” Cinardi, one of Italy’s most acclaimed music video creators whose credits include Lacuna Coil and Verdena. Shot with poetic realism, the clip reflects the song’s spirit of community resilience and quiet defiance, capturing moments of human connection that thrive in the margins.

Feldspar have also announced a Winter 2025 “Pasta Day” Tour, with headline dates and festival stops at HomeFront Festival, Rebirth Fest, and more.

UK electronic visionary Seb Wildblood returned with “help me wake up (los angeles)”, a hauntingly intimate new single out via his label all my thoughts. The track offers another glimpse into his forthcoming debut album under the Waterworld moniker, arriving November 19.

Marking a striking shift from his dance floor-driven roots, “help me wake up (los angeles)” unfolds like a confessional — Wildblood’s understated vocals rising above delicate, lo-fi textures and drifting pop tones.

“The track reflects on a sense of displacement, tracing the dissonance between a life that appears complete and the undercurrent of unease that runs beneath it,” Wildblood explains.

The single’s B-side, “you say,” returns to more familiar Wildblood territory, layering low-slung breaks and shimmering synths into a meditative, slow-motion groove. Together, the two songs capture the duality that defines the Waterworldproject — one foot in the club, the other in quiet self-reflection.

Hailed by DJ Mag as “one of the most prolific figures in the UK’s underground scene,” Wildblood’s reputation spans far beyond the booth. His music has earned praise from FACT, Mixmag, Resident Advisor, i-D, BBC, and KCRW, and his compositions have soundtracked JW Anderson and Burberry runway shows, as well as Neon’s short film She Said So.

With over 80 million streams and collaborations alongside Theophilus London, Kelly Lee Owens, and Laraaji, Seb Wildblood continues to chart a uniquely fluid creative path — bridging the spaces between electronic innovation, emotional intimacy, and artful restraint.

More than thirty years after its original CD release, Ugly Stick’s “Absinthe” is finally getting the reissue it deserves. Out now via Hovercraft Records, the album arrives newly remastered and expanded with bonus live recordings and unreleased studio material, marking its first-ever release on vinyl and digital platforms.

Formed in Delaware, Ohio in 1989, Ugly Stick forged a sound that fused Los Angeles punk grit with Midwestern heartland rock — a mix as urgent as X and as melodic as Tom Petty. By the time “Absinthe” first landed in 1993, it had already cemented the band’s place in the fabric of Ohio’s underground scene.

Ugly Stick’s blend of punk drive, alt-country storytelling, and garage swagger feels remarkably fresh, its restless energy foreshadowing the rise of cow-punk and Americana-influenced alternative rock.

Rooted in the small towns and shrinking industrial landscapes of the Midwest, “Absinthe” captured an era defined by grit and resilience.

For all its rough edges, “Absinthe” also shines with melody and heart. Home of Rock praised the group for having “a mixture of punk, country, hillbilly-Gedudel and — yes, really good at melodies,” while The Riverfront Times said they “capture the beer-soaked nihilism of the worst dive bar.”

That tension — between raw energy and tuneful precision — is what gives the record its lasting spark. Now, with Hovercraft’s remastered reissue, “Absinthe” stands ready to be rediscovered by a new generation.

Two UK electronic acts, The Freestylers and Dub Pistols, have joined forces for a brand-new single, “Ska Train” featuring JA13, out now via Cyclone Records. The track marks the first taste of their forthcoming full-length collaboration, “Enter The Sound,” set to arrive in March 2026.

A vibrant fusion of ska, breaks, and modern production, “Ska Train” finds the longtime friends and touring partners returning to their shared roots with help from London-based reggae duo JA13 (Richard Drury and Keith Finch) and ska legend Derrick Morgan, often credited as the originator of the genre itself.

“Think we took the train back to Skaville for this, such bouncy happy vibes,” Aston Harvey from The Freestylers said. “Very classic in its style but done in a modern way, sure to bring a smile or two when you hear it. We wanted to catch that 2 tone element with a joyous uplifting celebration.”

The result is pure festival sunshine: a bouncy, brass-tinged anthem that’s already received early support from David Rodigan (BBC 1Xtra) and BBC Radio 6’s Chris Hawkins and Steve Lamacq.

Their upcoming album “Enter The Sound” continues this collaborative spirit, tracing a kaleidoscopic path through reggae, ska, hip-hop, trip-hop, breaks, and jungle. The record will feature an impressive roster including Jonny Osborne, Tippa Irie, General Levy, Too Many T’s, Horseman, Belle Humble, Scarlett Quinn, Tennor Fly, MC Spyda, and Seanie T.

Between the two, The Freestylers and Dub Pistols have defined a generation of UK electronic music — from the Freestylers’ crossover hits “B-Boy Stance” and “Cracks” to Dub Pistols’ festival mainstay anthems and collaborations with Terry Hall and Akala. Together, they’ve turned decades of dancefloor experience into something timeless: a celebration of unity, rhythm, and pure, unfiltered joy.

Acclaimed ska and soul collective Westbound Train continue their long-awaited return with the release of “Slippery Slope,” the second single from their upcoming album “Sing the Ghost Away,” arriving November 7, 2025. The new record marks a powerful evolution for the band — an emotionally rich, analog-warm collection that bridges classic soul, rocksteady, and modern ska with effortless grace.

Produced by Obi Fernandez (vocals, trombone) and Eric Novod (drums), and mixed and mastered by Tim Panella, Sing the Ghost Away was recorded at The Relic Room in New York City. The album’s organic sound and introspective songwriting reflect a band fully in its element, crafting music that feels timeless yet unmistakably current.

“‘Slippery Slope’ is a reminder to keep showing up, even when life feels heavy,” Fernandez said. “The truth is, it’s sweeter when we’re fully here — alive, aware, and present in the moment we’ve been given. We all wrestle with doubt and insecurity; none of us are alone in it. There’s a whole lot of us out here just trying to hold on, find our footing, and keep moving forward together.”

Alongside recent single “L.M.A.,” tracks like “Keeper From the Start” and a newly recorded version of fan favorite “We All Need Rescue” highlight the band’s signature blend of soulful warmth and ska rhythm, enriched by contributions from Anthony Abbinanti (percussion) and horn players Rich Graiko and Carlos Menezes Jr.

Formed in 2001 at Berklee College of Music, Westbound Train built an international following through their infectious live energy and deeply human songwriting. Drawing inspiration from The Skatalites, Hepcat, Otis Redding, and The Slackers, they’ve long stood as pillars of the ska and soul revival—touring the world and earning their place as one of the genre’s most enduring and heartfelt voices.

Manchester’s beloved indie outfit The Maple State return with their stirring new single “No Time To Waste,” out now across all streaming platforms. The track arrives ahead of their forthcoming album “Don’t Take Forever,” due November 7, 2025, and marks the first release from the reunited original lineup in two decades.

Featuring original artwork by Chris Cyprus, a contemporary Manchester artist known for his luminous depictions of Northern life, Don’t Take Forever pairs The Maple State’s signature emotional energy with a reflective maturity.

Frontman Greg Counsell recalls discovering Cyprus’ work in a Hebden Bridge gallery, instantly drawn to his ability to capture moments of transition. One of Cyprus’ pieces, Waiting for a Friend, ultimately became the album cover — its wistful suburban imagery perfectly mirroring the record’s themes of memory and renewal.

Musically, “No Time To Waste” reconnects the band with the raw spirit of their early Midwest emo roots.

“This song is speaking to the 17 year old version of me who wrote At least until we’ve settled in — it’s the same ideas and same emotional, cathartic music but played with that maturity that comes from being 20 years older,” Counsell said.

Lyrically inspired by a friend’s struggle to leave an unfulfilling relationship, the track delivers an empowering message about self-worth and the courage to start over.

“Don’t Take Forever” follows the band’s 2018 album “The Things I Heard at the Party” and finds them embracing both their past and their present. The Maple State will celebrate the release with a special hometown show at Aatma, Manchester, on October 24, before the album’s official arrival.
