The Neighbourhood is officially back. The chart-topping alt-rock band has announced their long-awaited new album, (((((ultraSOUND))))), out November 14 via Warner Records. The release marks the band’s first full-length studio project in five years — and the beginning of a daring new era.
To kick the release off, the band has dropped three new tracks: “Private,” “OMG,” and “Lovebomb.” Each one offers a different look into the emotional world of (((((ultraSOUND))))).
“Private” rides on a vulnerable groove built from a GarageBand drum loop and a vocal that frontman Jesse Rutherford initially recorded on his phone.
“Lovebomb,” born from a Jono-and-Abels loop, captures the dizzying fallout of saying “I love you” too soon.
“OMG” finds strength in commitment — “by your side, together on the ride, twister or a tidal wave. Rain or shine, you’re always on my mind.”
Blending the raw grit of ‘90s alt-rock with the band’s signature California cool, (((((ultraSOUND))))) feels both nostalgic and forward-thinking. There’s a moody, introspective undercurrent throughout — a balance of grunge and psychedelia that highlights The Neighbourhood’s evolution without losing the hazy allure that made them a global phenomenon in the first place.
Lyrically, the record digs deep into heartbreak, disillusionment, and self-reflection. It’s intimate and unfiltered — a natural next step for a band that has always worn its emotions on its sleeve.

Formed in 2011, The Neighbourhood — Jesse Rutherford, Zach Abels, Brandon Fried, Jeremy Freeman, and Mikey Margott — rose to fame with their moody, genre-blurring sound and cinematic aesthetic. Their 2013 debut I Love You introduced the world to the double-Platinum hit “Sweater Weather,” which climbed to No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative chart and became a generation-defining alt-pop anthem.
Since then, the California collective has continued to reinvent their sound across acclaimed projects like Wiped Out!(2015), The Neighbourhood (2018), and Chip Chrome & the Mono-Tones (2020). With five multi-Platinum, six Platinum, and eight Gold-certified singles — not to mention two additional Platinum albums — the band has carved out one of the most distinctive legacies in alternative music.
Now, with (((((ultraSOUND))))), The Neighbourhood are turning the page — reconnecting with their roots while exploring new sonic territory. It’s not just a comeback; it’s a reintroduction.
