XO has launched their debut EP, Fashionably Late, under the Polydor Label Group. The release is accompanied by their energetic new track and video, ‘Candy’, which was previewed during the band’s quickly sold-out UK headline shows last month. Following this success, XO has announced a new UK headline tour, including a show at the O2 Academy Islington in London on May 29th. Artist pre-sales begin at 9AM on November 19th, with general tickets going on sale on November 21st.
Fashionably Late introduces XO — aka Emmy, Reanna, Shali, Summer, and Zoe — a dynamic five-piece aiming to become Britain’s next top girlband. Their debut EP drops alongside ‘Candy’, a lively track blending 2000s Timbaland beats with catchy, chantable hooks. The playful music video offers a glimpse of the dance choreography that XO is quickly becoming known for.
Creating Fashionably Late has been described as a journey. The six-track EP captures the vibe of a night out, from getting ready (‘Rush Hour’) and candid interludes like ‘Give a Girl Her Shoe!’, to letting loose with viral fan favorite ‘Ponytail’, and experiencing new love with the euphoric lead single ‘Lovesick’. The EP also showcases XO’s unapologetic attitude and the message they want to promote. ‘Real Friends’, co-written with pop icon Charli XCX, is an empowering anthem about sisterhood and solidarity. An acoustic version, released last month, highlights the band’s impressive harmonies. The closing track, ‘Silly Boy’, was inspired by Zoe and Shali’s experience witnessing street catcalling and was written in an Uber.
With just their first EP, Fashionably Late, XO demonstrates growth—emotionally and artistically—and invites fans to join them on their journey.
