Netflix has officially set the premiere date for Star Search, marking the return of the iconic talent competition that originally aired between 1983 and 1995. The revival will be led by Golden Globe nominee Anthony Anderson (Black-ish), who brings plenty of hosting experience from his current role on Fox’s We Are Family.
According to the series description, Star Search is “back and bigger than ever,” featuring expanded talent categories and a heightened level of competition. Each episode will highlight standout emerging performers in music, dance, comedy, variety, magic, and junior divisions as they face off for a chance at breakthrough success.
