’Mr Men’ Feature Film In Development

StudioCanal, the studio behind the beloved Paddington movies, has revealed that a full-length feature film based on the classic Mr. Men Little Miss children’s books is officially in development. The company is once again partnering with Heyday Films—the same team that brought Paddington to the big screen—for this new project.

The news was shared jointly by StudioCanal, the production companies, and the official Mr. Men Little Miss channels.

In a statement, StudioCanal said:

“This film builds on two recent milestones in the Mr. Men Little Miss universe: the animated series now streaming on YouTube and a second animated series currently in production for television. Together, these initiatives underscore Sanrio’s strategy to extend the brand into dynamic entertainment platforms while maintaining publishing as its foundation.”

Sanrio, the global entertainment company best known for Hello Kitty, has owned the Mr. Men Little Miss brand since acquiring it in 2011. Under their stewardship, the character lineup has grown to more than 90, including special editions inspired by real-life cultural icons. The brand now enjoys a huge international following—especially in the UK, France, Australia, and across Asia—with merchandise ranging from fashion and beauty products to toys and beyond.

Adam Hargreaves, son of the original creator Roger Hargreaves, shared his excitement:

“It’s an amazing thought that the Mr. Men and Little Miss are going to feature in their own film—it’s very exciting news. My father would have been thrilled, and I can’t say how proud I am of his creation that it merits an appearance on the big screen. It’s a big step up for Mr. Small!”

The official Mr. Men Little Miss Instagram account celebrated the announcement with a playful caption:

“The Mr. Men Little Miss movie is in the making! This isn’t one of Mr. Fib’s tall tales! Little Miss Chatterbox can’t stop talking about it (of course she can’t!) and Mr. Greedy’s already making popcorn (though we don’t think it’ll last till the premiere).”
