A24 has unveiled the first poster for The Drama, an upcoming romantic comedy starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. The film is set to hit theaters on April 3, 2026, and will premiere alongside The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the animated sequel to the blockbuster Super Mario Bros. Movie.
The Drama is written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, best known for the 2023 satirical dramedy Dream Scenario, which starred Nicolas Cage and received critical acclaim—including a Golden Globe nomination for Cage for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. The film features an ensemble cast including Alana Haim, Mamoudou Athie, and Hailey Gates.
Details about the plot remain closely guarded, but according to Variety, The Drama will center on “a couple whose romance faces unexpected hurdles before their big day.”
The film is produced by Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen of Square Peg, alongside Borgli and Tyler Campellone through Dilemma Films. A24 is the studio backing the project.
Earlier this year, Pattinson starred in Mickey 17, directed by Bong Joon Ho, marking his return to major films since Parasite. He’s also set to star alongside Jennifer Lawrence in Lynne Ramsay’s Die, My Love, which will be released on November 7.
Zendaya’s 2024 has been highly successful, with leading roles in Dune: Part II and Challengers. She will also reprise her Emmy-winning role as Rue in Euphoria Season 3 next year.
The Drama is not the only project featuring Pattinson and Zendaya set for 2026. They will also co-star in two epic films: The Odyssey and Dune: Part Three.
