Blazing a trail of future music to come, “Meteor” is the first of a series of planned releases from the Australian folk-pop duo due to impact in the coming months that will form their highly anticipated fifth album.
Inspired by the powerful forces of nature that reflect a tumultuous inner world, the track was recorded by the ocean in Victoria, Australia, and mixed in Canada. Of this sensual, string-laden new single, Charm of Finches say:
“This song came out of a bit of a turbulent time, and contemplates the sometimes fraught relationship with the self. We’ve visited many dramatic landscapes this year – we hiked up an active volcano in New Zealand and visited the oldest rainforest in the world up in Northern Queensland. We think that witnessing the power and grandeur of nature really influenced the writing of this song.”
Directed and edited by Charm of Finches, the track is accompanied by a bewitching official video featuring elegant choreography and shamanic feathered costumes hand-crafted by the band. Of the visuals, the band add:
“We love to create music videos that are sort of like mini short films. We drew aesthetic inspiration from Yellow Jackets with a sprinkle of Narnia. We got out the glue guns and handcrafted elven twig crowns and feathered costume pieces, and even painted an animal skull mask. We collaborated with our incredible friends who helped us design and put together the costumes, source props as well as dance and act in it! We wanted to capture a magical, powerful, natural world and incorporate the beauty of the Australian landscape.”

global superstar Travis Scott surprises fans with the luxe and sultry music video for “PBT” featuring Tyla and Kybz Kartel. The seductive Afrobeats-meets-dancehall collaboration hails from this summer’s blockbuster JACKBOYS 2 set presented by Epic Records and Cactus Jack, the groundbreaking collective and label led by Scott. Revisit JACKBOYS 2 HERE, and watch the brand new “PBT” music video HERE.
Directed by Nabil (Kendrick Lamar, Billie Eilish, Frank Ocean), the “PBT” visual opens on the Tokyo skyline before homing in on Tyla and Scott. Playing to the song’s themes, we see them in separate hotel rooms — him looking pressed, and her primping — in between flashbacks of an earlier, carefree encounter. Soon enough, though, they reunite and without saying a word, walk off together. Kartel blesses the union from afar, and an ensuing party rages into the night.
Like much of JACKBOYS 2, “PBT” unites staggering talent and, as Billboard wrote of the song, proves that “Scott’s versatility is back on full display.” Sports Illustrated also shouted out the track in their glowing review of the project: “This joint is a vibe. It brings that vibrant South African bounce, paired with Tyla’s sultry vocals and a legendary verse from Vybz.” Produced by BBYKOBE (Ty Dolla $ign, The Weeknd), “PBT” is perfect for late-night wining at home or in the club, finding Scott in loverboy mode: “It’s that pretty brown round thing, you should be mine, you should get a ring / You know I’ll five-star entertain, baby, just tell me you feel the samе.”
JACKBOYS 2 debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making it Scott’s fifth album to top the chart. A tastemaking celebration of boundary-free art, the project brings together a heavyweight lineup led by Scott, including 21 Savage, Future, Playboi Carti, Don Toliver, GloRilla, Sheck Wes, Kodak Black, Waka Flocka Flame, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, SahBabii, SoFayGo, and more — not to mention fellow Texas icon Bun B, who hosts the set throughout.

Southern California’s Djentrified has released two new one-take vocal performance videos for “Welcome to the Abyss” and “THIS SONG SHOULDN’T EXIST,” designed for those who bear the burden of the world yet persist in facing it head-on. Filmed solo in a room with only a microphone, these videos distill everything down to the basics. What endures is emotion, genuine urgency and the commitment to appear authentically. In each performance Cousteau appears solo in a setting the shot focused and simple. There are no effects, no studio techniques, just a human voice confronting the moment with certainty. It serves not as proof of vocal stamina but also, as a reminder that beneath the weight lies a person communicating from a stance of compassion, fairness and ethical clarity.

GRAMMY-winning, Tony and Emmy-nominated singer-songwriter and Epic Records recording artist Sara Bareilles today releases “Salt Then Sour Then Sweet,” a powerful, poignant original song featuring Brandi Carlile. The lyrics of the song come from an original poem written by acclaimed poet and activist Andrea Gibson. Listen to the song now HERE.
The original song is featured in the Apple Original Films documentary Come See Me in the Good Light, which officially debuts today in select theaters and globally on Apple TV—a deeply affecting portrait of Andrea Gibson’s life, love and heartbreaking battles.
Bareilles, widely respected for her songwriting and powerhouse vocals, was first introduced to Gibson through their vulnerable and transparent social media posts detailing their diagnosis with an incurable ovarian cancer. After attending one of Gibson’s final live performances, Bareilles fatefully crossed paths with friends and filmmakers Abby Wambach and Glennon Doyle, who invited Bareilles to contribute to the documentary.
With the hope of bringing Gibson’s unique presence and community-building art even further, Bareilles crafted “Salt Then Sour Then Sweet” from the seeds of an original Gibson poem. Writing the backbone of the music in just a day, Bareilles then connected with Carlile, and the two transformed the piece into a duet, their two voices singing Andrea’s words. Serving as the documentary’s emotional finale, the song encapsulates a message of resilience, love and the full spectrum of human experience.
Bareilles shares, “Andrea’s poem felt like a map for living fully. It was almost sacred to bring these words to song. Working with Brandi, we created a duet meant to leave listeners full of love, embracing the joy and pain of life without holding back.”

Her iconic love ballad I Love You, Always Forever continues to resonate across generations—an enduring anthem that topped both US and UK charts and still holds its place as one of the most beloved songs in history. Her new single “Coming Home” in collaboration with David Lowe is a gentle exhale. It’s a song about slowing down, reconnecting, and cherishing the people you love. Rooted in soft electronica and nostalgic textures, the song is both cinematic and deeply personal. Donna confides, “I wanted this song to be about returning to the people we love, the traditions, the familiar laughter and the quiet comfort knowing some things never change, reminding us of who we are.” Gentle synths, layered harmonies and pulsing rhythms feel like headlights on a snowy road, guiding the listener toward comfort and love. David adds, “To underscore Donna’s wonderful vocals and lyrics for this track, I wanted to evoke that warm comforting familiar rush of feeling you get when you’ve come home to people close to you after time away.” “Coming Home” will serve as the emotional centerpiece of Wanderlust, a record that celebrates connection, reflection and the enduring beauty of human relationships.

From the quiet corners of a Nova Scotia night, Jont‘s “Let’s Just Be Friends” emerges as a tender, nocturnal meditation on love and truth – a song that drifts between dreamy romanticism and grounded self-awareness. Vulnerable and timeless, it’s a story of connection that was perhaps always destined to burn bright and fade, leaving behind the bittersweet beauty of understanding.
“Late at night, sat up in bed with my guitar, is how some of my best songs have come,” Jont shares. “Maybe it was always thus for songwriters – Cohen, Dylan – the muse sitting beside them as the world sleeps. And with my cats Oscar and Buttons beside me, I can be found there too, up late, lights low, guitar in my lap, writing something that’s sprung out of me without warning and demanding my attention.”
“You don’t have to be a genius to work out it’s a love song,” he continues. “And an autobiographical one at that. Sincere too in its message – or maybe not sincere in the desire to stay as just friends. Just true in what it says about what happens when you don’t.”

Canadian roots-rock duo The Bros. Landreth—brothers Joey and Dave Landreth—have become known for their soulful blend of blues, Americana, and guitar-driven storytelling, earning international acclaim since the release of their debut album Let It Lie. Their breakthrough moment came when Bonnie Raitt covered their song “Made Up Mind,” winning a Grammy for Americana Performance of the Year and shining a global spotlight on the band’s rich songwriting and musicianship. Over the years, they’ve built a devoted following through their singular chemistry, virtuosity, and heartfelt, finely crafted songs.
With their new album Dog Ear, The Bros. Landreth open a bold and deeply personal chapter. Inspired by the camaraderie and spark of their live lineup—rounded out by Roman Clarke, Murray Pulver, and Ian Phillips—the record captures the immediacy of a band playing in full trust and full flight. Written during a period of new parenthood, shifting priorities, and hard-earned emotional clarity, the album explores themes of family, presence, and what it means to stay grounded when life keeps you moving. Recorded largely through spontaneous, instinct-driven sessions, Dog Ear is their most band-forward and intuitive work to date, featuring honest performances and special guest contributions from Begonia, Glenn Patscha, and two striking vocal appearances from Bonnie Raitt.

Coi Leray —the GRAMMY®-nominated, multi-platinum hitmaker— releases the official remix for her single, “Lick Back.” She’s joined by rising Philly rapper, Skrilla, who is currently going viral for his breakout hit “Doot Doot,” which sparked the trending TikTok phrase, “6 7.” “Lick Back” originally appeared on Coi’s What Happened To Forever? EP earlier this year. Todays’ release includes an edgy, menacing video directed by OSKH, featuring Coi and Skrilla standing on business, asserting their place in the game. Watch the video here.
In recent weeks, her latest single, “Act Like You Know,” featuring Shoreline Mafia, has been climbing up the American radio charts and she joined Shoreline Maria onstage during their recent headlining, hometown show at The Forum in Los Angeles. Skyla Tylaa steps back into the spotlight with Vele Uyena (Risk It All), a heavyweight collaboration featuring JAZZWRLD, Thukuthela, Elaine and Solaariss. After breaking onto the release scene earlier this year with her hit single Bombshell (now sitting at over 3.5 million streams), Skyla returns with a track that’s already club-tested and road-ready. She’s been sneaking it into her sets all year as a secret weapon and the release unites a seriously stacked lineup. South African producer JAZZWRLD, the mind behind Isaka (6 am), teams up once again with Thukuthela, both continuing the unstoppable run that’s kept them high on the charts all year. Elaine glides across the beat with her signature velvet vocals, while Solaariss brings his unmistakable sax energy, marking his first official studio collab with Skyla after years of touring the world together and delivering highlight moments night after night. Vele Uyena (Risk It All) is Skyla Tylaa leveling up, bridging continents, and pushing her sound fully into the global lane.
At 24, Skyla Tylaa is moving at the speed of a cultural shift. Her sets are pure energy, threading Amapiano’s deep grooves through a wider constellation of Afro-electronic sounds. Born and raised between Kennington and Vauxhall in South East London, she grew up in a household where music wasn’t just background noise but a daily ritual. Funky House, UKG, old-school RnB and Reggae spilled out of every room, shaping the instincts she now brings to the booth. As one of seven siblings, Skyla found early inspiration close to home through her sister Jada, the powerhouse music manager behind artists like Akon and Wizkid. She cycled through instruments growing up, dipping into trumpet, violin, flute and guitar, before realising she was chasing something bigger than technique. With a growing hunger for performance, she trained at both the BRIT School and the Sylvia Young Theatre School, refining the stage presence that would later define her DJ career. But everything clicked at 21, during a trip to Ghana, when she stepped into Wizkid’s recording studio and heard Amapiano in its rawest form. It was a spark. Unconventional to most, iconic mentors like DJ Tunez, Maphorisa, Uncle Vinny and Major League DJz helped shape her craft, pushing her deeper into the culture.
Skyla’s breakout moment arrived in 2023 when she opened on Wizkid’s Made in Lagos tour, an intense trial by fire that launched her onto the global stage. Since then, Skyla has been in constant motion: UK clubs, New York basements, European open-airs, African mega-stages and Australia’s festival circuit. She’s torn through Big Smoke, Afronation, Wireless, Piano People and Promiseland, and packed out headline shows in London, Nigeria and Ghana. Industry eyes have locked onto her rise. Mixmag named her one of 2024’s Breakthrough DJs of the Year, and Rihanna tapped her to open in Los Angeles and soundtrack the London launch of Fenty x Puma. Gracing the cover of Hunger in a shoot by the legendary Rankin, she’s also earned championing support from 10 Magazine, Wonderland, Dazed, OkayAfrica, Trench, and many more. Not forgetting other A listers including Drake and Rema who have called on Skyla to get the party started. Yet for all the momentum, Skyla keeps her focus on the craft itself, chasing connection over spectacle. For more information on Skyla Tylaa please visit Instagram TikTok

Rain heralds the upcoming Gospel of Judas album, set for release in early 2026 — a record Blackbird (Krista Ruusunen) has been crafting for four years. Blackbird’s music is genreless; each song sonically reflects its own emotional core. Every track is also a moment of personal insight — a message from the subconscious. Rain brings forward the negative energy that exists within us all, a force too often labelled as something inherently bad. Everything carries both negative and positive charge. When pain strikes deeply, fear disappears. Rain urges us to turn that energy into strength. Walk into the fire — Shout your fears away.
“I want to leave human footprints behind. What is happening in the music industry right now feels, to me, almost like the murder of humanity. AI produces music at such a pace — and often at such a competent level — that it’s becoming difficult to distinguish between human-made and AI-made work. Even though I am not at peace with AI, I do see positive sides in it, or at least I hope I do. Music hasn’t evolved much since the early 2000s. It repeats itself. AI is forcing creators back to the true source of creativity. AI combines what already exists — but creativity is not that. We must create something new. I was born with the gift of music. I’ve played everything by ear since I was a child and grew up surrounded by all kinds of music. My almost perfect pitch and everything I’ve learned through years of work now give me the ability to share with others the world that sounds inside me every single second. That music comes from a human — a human whose knowledge and brain a computer tries to imitate. Now more than ever, my task is to create music. While mixing Rain, I imagined Thomas as a warrior battling the machine. Thomas Rönnholm (Saimaa, The Guards Band) performs a phenomenal drum part on the track, and I wanted to bring it to the forefront.”

The eagerly awaited album Black Avalanche by Toronto’s ONE HUNDRED MOONS is now available. The band’s nine tracks create a body of work that is simultaneously expansive and intensely personal; it is music that hovers between cosmic scale and human emotion. The album is like a guided trip through beauty, doubt, and memory. Every song creates a world of its own, bound together by the band’s unmistakable command of tension and atmosphere.
The title track opens like a myth retold through static and reverb, a slow surrender to romanticized sadness. From there, “Death of the Party” moves with a shadowed grace, its midtempo rhythm veiled in a vaguely exotic and enigmatic aura. “Ear to Ear” takes the listener through a labyrinth of discordant guitars and eerie harmonies. “Chairman of the Bored” floats with a dreamlike stillness, before “Shade of the Night” spirals into quiet despair. By the time “House of Mirrors” arrives, the band is looking back with wistful clarity, melancholy tempered by something almost hopeful.

Indie-rock/folk artist Truman Sinclair returns with the waltzing daydream of a single, ‘sugar’, out now via Capitol Records/Polydor Label Group. The release lands as he is unveiled in the first wave of fifty artists announced for next year’s The Great Escape festival, taking place in Brighton in May 2026.
Equal parts sweetly romantic and self-assured, the new tune hits with an easy bliss, testament to the Chicago-bred, L.A.-based singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer’s artistry, which melds slack vocals, vivid storytelling, and a raw-yet-realised sound. Truman counts into ‘sugar’ before dropping us right into the mellow, immersive groove; as acoustic guitar rings and the rhythm section sways, he warmly addresses a lover who doesn’t realise the power they possess: “You tell me you’re broken, you’re beyond repair / You’re saying all that with the wind in your hair / And all the kings horses and all the kings men / Are lining up for you, they’re in your command.” With a poetic eye, he sees the soft strength of his subject: “There’s circles of sugar in the places you’ve been / Under your armour, you’re soft in your skin.”
This release follows ‘dustland’, which THE FADER called “a rousing coming-of-age tale with a little country fried twang and immersive storytelling,” while Wonderland wrote, “dustland’ is a lo-fi, slow-burning track full of grit and gut-punch emotion.” In addition to the official music video linked above, Truman shared a “live in LA” performance clip that captures the young troubadour’s magnetic off-the-cuff charisma. He also recently stopped into Jam in the Van for a moving and markedly barefoot miniset that included “dustland.”

Visionary artist Theodora returns with the highly anticipated music video for her single ‘Masoko Na Mabele’, directed by Léa Esmaili. A bold visual statement as much as a musical one, the video is a vivid celebration of art, identity, and experimental style, accompanied by Theodora’s signature pulsing beats and razor-sharp lyrics.
Drawing inspiration from the nostalgia of 90s cartoons and video games, the video sees Theodora travelling through a series of different worlds. Each scene delivers a glimpse into much larger universes – carefully crafted worlds, an artful montage of angles, artistic style and attitude – cementing her status as one of the most creatively daring artists on the scene.
‘Masoko Na Mabele’ is not just a song, it’s a visual feast. Captivating creative expression, nostalgic high-contrast filters, and an immersive storytelling approach make the video feel more like a short animated film than a standard music video release. Theodora weaves through caricatures and aesthetics with cinematic precision, embracing both perfection and edge.
With this release, Theodora continues to redefine what it means to be a pop innovator – genre-blending, style-shifting, and always pushing boundaries.

With a Rage Against The Machine like swagger, “FUK ZUK” is a maelstrom of spoken word fury and fist-pumping post-rock.
Venting his frustrations with the kind of algorithmic invasions we all find ourselves subject to at the hands of tech-companies on a daily basis, frontman Ben Robinson put pen to page and the poetic lyrics at the heart of “FUK ZUK” poured out in one. As Ben recalls:
“One morning on holiday it dawned on me that we were all being terrorised by algorithms, purposefully polarised, enraged, saddened and driven to conflict… All for the benefit of the agenda’s of some tech operators. I think we’re all waking up to that. The track tries to articulate that frustration and in clear language and lay it out in plain sight what is going on. Having a young child has made me think differently about where to draw the line on what’s happening to our minds and very existence as humans. There’s an urgency and boldness to the message, a wake up call… It’s about the whole cast of tech monopolies and also the general mindset they operate in.”

Fast Money Music returns with new single “Lover Boy” and the announcement of his highly-anticipated, self-titled debut album, ‘Fast Money Music’, which arrives next summer.
“Lover Boy” turns missed connection into a chant — playful and self-assured, but fraying at the seams. Beneath the innuendo and letter-by-letter hook lies a story of passion tangled with unfinished business. It’s about trying to leap before you look, torn between instinct and self-work, desire and hesitation. It’s about the feeling of being chased by ghosts while being something of an apparition yourself. The result is equal parts brash and vulnerable — a song that struts while second-guessing its own reflection.
Recorded between Hackney Road Studios and Fast Money Music’s own space in Dalston, “Lover Boy” channels the irreverent swagger of Viagra Boys with the rhythmic pulse of ESG and the offbeat charm of The Modern Lovers. The track was produced by Fast Money Music, with executive production and mixing by Mikko Gordon (The Smile, Arcade Fire) and mastering by Matt Colton (Depeche Mode, Wet Leg, Arctic Monkeys). It features bass from Jamie Reynolds (Klaxons), saxophone by John Waugh (The 1975), and drums by Steffan Halperin (Klaxons).
“It’s controlled chaos,” shares Nick, “the intersection of passion and lust, caught between impulse and restraint. There’s tragic humor in the idea of being a ‘lover boy,’ alongside the serious weight of wanting love and security. For me, it’s just that: a sonic explosion of that internal struggle, and the uncertainty of what happens if you wait too long.”
Accompanied by a hazy black-and-white music video, the new single arrives hot on the heels of “Round and Round”, which received support from Steve Lamacq at BBC Radio 6, John Kennedy at Radio X, and Clash Magazine. Both tracks will feature on Fast Money Music’s newly announced debut album, which is set for release next spring.

Ottawa-based singer-songwriter Heliara returns with “I Know That You Love Me,” a refreshingly honest and heartfelt pop track about the beauty and complexity of loving – and being loved by – your opposite. As the newest offering from her upcoming EP Everything’s a Love Song, the single captures the contradictions of real-world relationships, embracing both their joy and imperfection with wit, vulnerability, and irresistible rhythm.
“Falling in love with your polar opposite has its beauties and challenges and this song documents the journey of a very real long-term relationship,” Heliara shares. “It may not be your typical love song, but it is a love song nonetheless, infused with the vulnerability, quirkiness and authenticity that typically characterizes my songwriting.”

This track is my prayer to help ease suffering in our minds, in our hearts, and for all beings everywhere, at all times. My wish is for this mantra to soften what feels heavy and awaken a deeper sense of belonging in everyone who listens. May we remember that we are all connected, and none of us are walking this journey alone.”

TABLE—one of the hottest and naturally intriguing DJ-producer duos coming through right now, return to the sound sphere following previous singles “MOONS” and “Heal”, alongside dublon, and Brick Lane Jazz Festival 2026 announcement with another captivating, high-grade release titled “Serenity” alongside UK artist Kaesu. This is the next release taken from TABLE’s highly-anticipated EP, 02 DISC, due January 2026. Closing out their breakout year in style, which has seen TABLE rack up millions of streams across tracks such as “Hotspot”—2.4M streams—and “Salve”—3.4M streams—the multi-talented Swedish duo unleash a rhythmic fusion of afro, jazz and house on “Serenity”, led by dreamlike sax melodies and hazy percussive elements, creating a hypnotic bed for UK poet-artist Kaesu, whose smooth verses touch on love and connection. Crafted during a session in London, “Serenity” encapsulates TABLE’s evolving sound—soulful, textured and effortlessly forward-thinking—further solidifying their reputation as one of house music’s most forward-thinking acts. Speaking on the single, TABLE explain: “The track is about the freedom found in surrendering to the moment, letting go, and finding clarity and authenticity in the chaos—a feeling of being completely lost in music while the world moves around you.”

Already established as one of the hottest talents in the UK drum and bass landscape, Randle continues to build momentum with the release of her five-track project redemption pt.2, featuring previously released singles “system” and “let you in”, the EP introduces three new tracks. Landing as her fourth project, Randle’s redemption pt.2 serves as another timely reminder of the multi-hyphenates innate ability in crafting some of the most forward-thinking dnb music emanating from these shores.

The revolution is here! Ontario genre-agnostic duo Asthma Kids return with their explosive new single “Crumbs and Morsels (The Meek Are Getting Ready Pt IV),” out now alongside the dystopian, visually arresting video from director Lisa Battocchio. The track is the latest preview of their upcoming EP The Meek Are Getting Ready, out December 1 via Dammit Distribution (EU/UK) and 2 Bar Town Records (North America).
Recorded in just three hours at The Reverie Recording Studio (Cavan-Monahagn, ON), “Crumbs and Morsels (…Pt IV)” captures the band at their most urgent and unfiltered. The track was mastered by Alex Wharton at Abbey Road Studios in London – a full-circle moment that frontman Trevor Hutchinson calls “a bucket-list thing.”
Built on a raw, propulsive energy, the song is an unvarnished critique of wealth inequality, class division, and “the psychopathic imbalance of power” embedded in late-stage capitalism.
“The powers that be, the billionaires and their multi-millionaire minions, designed this whole thing,” says Hutchinson. “It’s in the uber-elite’s interest for us to fight each other, and they enjoy watching it. That type of grotesque wealth and all the human misery it creates can only be described as psychopathic. ‘Crumbs and Morsels’ is me trying to explore that… while reminding myself that the revolution will still encourage dancing.”

Following the release of their recent singles “Threads” (10/3) and “Dancing in the Leaves” (11/5), What So Not and Buunshin are set to unveil their highly anticipated collaborative EP, The Quiet That Hurts, arriving December 3, 2025. The project as a swift follow up to What So Not’s acclaimed 2024 release Motions – an introspective and richly layered EP that showcased his mastery of emotional storytelling and continued evolution within the modern electronic landscape.
The Quiet That Hurts takes listeners on a drum and bass-fueled journey through melody, emotion, and experimentation – a balance of high energy and introspective depth. The five-track EP features an impressive roster of vocal talent, including Maiah Manser on “Threads”, Alina Pash on “Tragic”, Lucy Lucy on “Dancing in the Leaves”, Aiko on “The One”, and Mara Necia on the closing track “Falling In”.
Each track unfolds as part of a larger emotional arc – exploring existential self reflection – and showcases both producers’ ability to weave immersive, cinematic soundscapes. By blending What So Not and Buunshin’s innovative writing & production styles with the ethereal vocals of their collaborators, The Quiet That Hurts emerges as a cohesive and evocative exploration of vulnerability, movement, and connection.

Gogol Bordello announces ‘We Mean It, Man!’– a new album co-produced by Nick Launay (Nick Cave, Gang of Four, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Amyl & The Sniffers, IDLES) and Adam “Atom” Greenspan (Amyl & The Sniffers, IDLES) out February 13, 2026 via frontman’s Eugene Hütz’s label Casa Gogol Records. Following the previously released gypsy punk meets hardcore title track “We Mean It, Man!,” second single “Hater Liquidator” out now is an uplifting dancefloor crusher complete with a positive message on how to get through on our “Roaring and Warring ‘20s.”

Going out of 2025 with a bang – SKINNY LISTER – will sign off with a series of UK shows.

Taken from their invigorating 2025 release ‘Songs From The Yonder’, amidst an album full of mostly up-tempo madness, “Tumbling Into Something” is the moment of calm that allows its listeners to catch their breath.
Of the track, Dan Heptinstall shares:
“I always feel Lorna’s voice shines on our ballad style tracks, and this track lends itself particularly well to her voice. It’s an optimistic song about tumbling fearlessly forward into life while acknowledging its beauty. It’s about surrendering to the uncertainties of life, and embracing the excitement of the ride. It’s also about new beginnings and second chances.”
Offering a more ambient and atmospheric arrangement than fans might usually expect from a Skinny Lister staple, the hallmark instruments are still all present and correct, albeit in soothing form. “The drums are played with bare hands rather than sticks, and the accordion in this case is used more to add mood than melody, played almost like a synth pad – it leans towards something that sounds a little more ‘Vangelis’ than traditional folk” adds Dan.
‘Tumbling Into Something’ follows the seafaring ‘Yorkshire Belle’, the fervent ‘Plough On’, and swaggering drinking song ‘Set Us Straight’ among the singles plucked from their acclaimed 2025 album. Teeming with themes of seafaring, travelling and drinking, ‘Song From The Yonder’ is a riotous, feel-good listen that already feels right at home in the Skinny cannon.
