In an electrifying new trailer, Sam Rockwell stars as the enigmatic “Man From the Future,” a time-traveling hero tasked with saving humanity in the upcoming sci-fi adventure, Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die. The film promises a wild ride filled with humor, action, and a dash of existential peril.
The trailer introduces viewers to a tense yet quirky scenario: a man claiming to hail from a bleak future takes the unsuspecting patrons of a legendary Los Angeles diner hostage. His mission? To recruit unlikely heroes in a desperate bid to prevent a future where humanity has been devastated by an all-consuming AI.
“The future’s not looking good,” Rockwell’s character declares to a crowd of bewildered customers. He warns of an impending apocalypse where artificial intelligence has turned the world into a hellscape. But amidst the chaos, he offers a glimmer of hope—if these ordinary people can muster the courage to fight back now, they might just be the ones to turn the tide.
“There’s some s— that’s about to come down,” the Man from the Future warns, before rallying his new recruits with a rallying cry: “There is a chance you will die tonight, but I truly believe you could be the group that saves the f—ing world.” With that, the scene shifts into high gear, promising a blend of adrenaline and humor as these unlikely heroes prepare for battle.
Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die boasts a stellar cast, including Haley Lu Richardson, Michael Peña, Zazie Beetz, Asim Chandhry, Tom Taylor, and Juno Temple. The film is helmed by Gore Verbinski, marking his return to feature filmmaking after his 2016 horror-thriller A Cure for Wellness. Verbinski, renowned for directing the first three Pirates of the Caribbean films and the animated hit Rango, brings his signature style to this genre-bending adventure. The screenplay is penned by Matthew Robinson.
Produced by Verbinski alongside Robert Kulzer, Erwin Stoff, Oly Obst, and Denise Chamian, the film has already garnered buzz following its premiere at Fantastic Fest in September 2025, where it received positive reviews. Critics and audiences alike have embraced its unique blend of sci-fi, comedy, and action, contributing to its impressive 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Set for release on February 13, 2026, Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die is poised to be a standout addition to the 2026 cinematic lineup—an inventive story about heroism, hope, and the unpredictable power of ordinary people standing up against extraordinary odds.
