Apple TV+ has unveiled the first teaser and announced the release date for its highly anticipated limited series starring Anya Taylor-Joy. The streaming platform revealed this exciting update during its 2026 press event. The show, titled Lucky, is set to premiere on July 15, 2026, with the first two episodes dropping simultaneously. Following the debut, new episodes will be released weekly each Wednesday through August 19.
Based on Marissa Stapley’s best-selling novel of the same name, Lucky is also the latest adaptation from Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine book club. The series follows Lucky, played by Taylor-Joy, a clever con artist whose life unravels after a costly heist goes awry. As she goes on the run, Lucky finds herself pursued by both the FBI and a dangerous crime boss named Priscilla, portrayed by Annette Bening. The stakes escalate rapidly as Lucky struggles to survive and find a way out.
Timothy Olyphant co-stars as John, Lucky’s father, adding a personal dimension to the intense pursuit. The cast also features Drew Starkey as Lucky’s husband Cary, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor as FBI agent Billie Rand, along with Clifton Collins Jr. and William Fichtner. The teaser opens with a dramatic car crash, showing Lucky’s character being thrown through a windshield, followed by glimpses of a series marked by poor choices over time.
The footage hints at betrayal, peril, and desperation, establishing a tense, cat-and-mouse thriller atmosphere. It also showcases the show’s moody visual style, with shadowy close-ups of Lucky and striking character portraits of the supporting cast.
Taylor-Joy not only stars in Lucky but also serves as an executive producer through her LadyKiller banner. The series is co-showrun, written, and executive-produced by Jonathan Tropper and Cassie Pappas.
