Bebe Rexha Debuts “New Religion,” a Modern Tribute to a Classic Dance Anthem

Multi-platinum recording artist, songwriter, and worldwide hitmaker Bebe Rexha has released her latest track, “New Religion,” along with its official music video. Inspired by the legendary electronic group Faithless’s timeless club classic “Insomnia,” this high-energy dance anthem reimagines the iconic hit for a new generation. Serving as the focus track for Rexha’s upcoming album, DIRTY BLONDE, “New Religion” aims to become the defining summer soundtrack of today.

Rooted in the unmistakable DNA of “Insomnia,” the song combines the original’s hypnotic bassline with Rexha’s powerful vocals, transforming a 1995 dancefloor favorite into a sleek, modern club record. While paying homage to the legacy of the original, the track reinvents its pulse to resonate with contemporary audiences.

“‘New Religion’ is really my salvation on the dance floor,” Rexha explains. “It’s about letting go and losing yourself in the music. I was in a dark place when I wrote it, and I realized that music has always been my constant — my safe space, even in a tough industry and a heavy world. I wanted to write a love letter to music itself. When that bass hits, you feel it deep in your chest, and suddenly, you feel alive again. That’s what this song is about — feeling safe in the music and reigniting that spark. I hope when people hear it, it makes them want to dance, but more than that, I hope it makes them feel alive.”

This release marks another bold chapter in Rexha’s career, as she continues to push genre boundaries across pop, dance, and electronic music with innovative records and chart-topping hits worldwide.

The official music video for “New Religion” premieres alongside the single on March 6, and the track is now available on all streaming platforms.
