Trailer: “Wasteman” Unveiled Ahead of Theatrical Debut

The official trailer for the upcoming U.S. release of “Wasteman” has been unveiled. Vertigo Releasing and Sunrise Films are set to release the film in theaters nationwide on April 17.
The movie centers around Taylor, who is branded a “wasteman” by society, his family, and even within prison walls. Despite living in a world filled with parties, gangs, and violence, Taylor has managed to stay out of trouble—until his chaotic new cellmate, Dee, arrives. The presence of Dee threatens Taylor’s chances at early parole and the opportunity to rebuild his life, as outlined in the film’s synopsis via Rotten Tomatoes.

Directed by Cal McMau in his feature debut, “Wasteman” features a screenplay by Hunter Andrews and Eoin Doran. The cast includes Neil Linpow as Robby, Alex Hassell as Paul, Corin Silva as Gaz, Keaton Ancona-Francis as Stu, Layton Blake as Maxi, Paul Hilton as Browning, among others. The film is produced by Sophia Gibber and Myles Payne.

Numerous industry talents contribute to the project, with executive producers including Andrews, Jonsson, Philip Barantini, Samantha Beddoe, Sonny Gill, Sophie Green, Stephen Kelliher, Tim Macready, David Staniland, Duncan Western, and Sam Williams. The creative team features cinematographer Lorenzo Levrini, composer Forest Swords, production designer Phoebe Platman, costume designer Lauren Miller, and editors Ryan Morrison and James Demetriou.
