Olivia Rodrigo Announces New Album ‘You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love’

t’s been four years since Olivia Rodrigo released a new album, but the wait for her latest is finally over. Her third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad For a Girl So in Love, is set to be released on June 12 through Geffen Records. Interestingly, unlike her previous albums Sour (2021) and Guts (2023), the album title isn’t a four-letter word. In her newsletter, Olivia shared, “No matter how hard I try to write love songs, they always come out tinged with a little melancholy. I’m so proud of this record and can’t wait for you to hear it.” The album is now available for preorder.

As with her first two albums, Olivia collaborated with producer Dan Nigro on this project. The announcement comes after months of teasing new music, including a mysterious hotline message hinting at the upcoming release. The message referenced this year’s pink moon, which occurred on April 2, and urged fans to “trust your intuition,” promising “true clarity and renewal” after the moon. Olivia recently paid tribute to the Magnetic Fields’ “The Book of Love” for the charity compilation HELP(2), supporting War Child UK, alongside artists like Arctic Monkeys, Cameron Winter, Depeche Mode, and Wet Leg.

In December 2025, she released Live at Glastonbury (A BBC Recording), a double LP capturing her remarkable year touring the festival circuit. The following month, she marked the fifth anniversary of her breakout hit “Drivers License” by releasing a cover version featuring her friend David Byrne, performed at the Governors Ball.
