Recent set photos from a Brooklyn courthouse reveal that Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is bringing back some familiar heroes, reuniting a team fans have been eager to see together again for years. Marvel Television is bringing back The Defenders for Season 3 of Daredevil: Born Again, which is currently filming in New York City.
Photographers recently caught Mike Colter and Finn Jones on set outside a Brooklyn courthouse. They were joined by Krysten Ritter, who returned as Jessica Jones in Season 2. Colter and Jones reprise their roles as Luke Cage and Danny “Iron Fist” Rand. The last time these three actors appeared together was in The Defenders in 2017.
An X user confirmed the sighting with a post: “Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, and Finn Jones on the set of Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 as Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. THE DEFENDERS ARE OFFICIALLY BACK.”
The original Netflix Marvel universe included five interconnected series: Jessica Jones (2015–2019), Luke Cage (2016–2018), and Iron Fist (2017–2018). The stars came together for the 2017 crossover miniseries The Defenders.
Set photos also show Colter in a suit resembling Luke Cage’s mayoral campaign costume from the Devil’s Reign comic storyline. Fans on X commented on the similarity between the comic art and Colter’s on-set wardrobe.
Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane explained why the street-level heroes don’t often crossover into the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe. “The joke we make is, ‘Oh, those guys are uptown – we’re downtown!’” he said. “We have a pocket that’s set in Hell’s Kitchen… but our story is very focused and granular.”
