Mindy Kaling is making her return to streaming this summer with a new series. Hulu recently announced that Not Suitable for Work will premiere on June 2, along with the release of the first official photos from the show, giving fans an early look. The series will debut with its first three episodes on launch day, followed by two new episodes each week until the finale on June 23. The show will be available on Hulu in the United States, with bundle subscribers able to watch it on Hulu and Disney+. International viewers can stream it on Disney+.
In addition to the release date, Hulu released first-look photos that provide a sneak peek into the series, which is shot in a single-camera style. The images depict the cast in various Manhattan locations, from modern corporate offices to the lively streets of Murray Hill. The show’s official description describes it as focusing on “five work-obsessed twenty-somethings striving for professional success and, if they have time, personal happiness in Manhattan’s most glamorous neighborhood, Murray Hill.” Kaling created the series and serves as an executive producer. Charlie Grandy, who previously worked with Kaling on The Mindy Project and The Sex Lives of College Girls, is the showrunner and also an executive producer.
The cast includes Ella Hunt, Avantika, Will Angus, Jack Martin, Nicholas Duvernay, and Jay Ellis. The series also features recurring guest appearances from Victor Garber, Greg Germann, and Harry Richardson, with additional roles played by Constance Wu, Laura Bell Bundy, May Hong, Bhavesh Patel, Emilia Suárez, and Michael Benjamin Washington.
With the release date set and the first images unveiled, Mindy Kaling’s new series is poised to be one of Hulu’s major comedy releases this summer.
