Marvel Television’s The Punisher: One Last Kill is set to premiere on Disney+ next month. Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, this Marvel Cinematic Universe special features Jon Bernthal reprising his iconic role as Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher. The trailer shows Bernthal’s character grappling with past decisions and the profound loss of his family. While these struggles push him into a dark place, he appears to be on a journey to find inner peace. The footage includes glimpses of him experiencing visions of past selves and former acquaintances, alongside scenes filled with violence and chaos. Many details about The Punisher: One Last Kill remain under wraps, with additional information still to be revealed. Green and Bernthal co-wrote the script for the project.
Bernthal’s portrayal of The Punisher first appeared in Daredevil on Netflix. Since then, he became a regular cast member and even starred in his own two-season series. However, Frank Castle will not be appearing in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, partly due to his upcoming appearance in Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man 4, titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, scheduled for release in July. It remains to be seen how prominent his role will be in that film.
The Punisher: One Last Kill, a Marvel Television Special Presentation, will premiere on Disney+ at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET on May 12, 2026.
