Idiots kicks off with a simple rehab transport job—handled by exactly the wrong men. The Sundance comedy from filmmaker Macon Blair, which originally premiered under the title The Shitheads, stars Dave Franco and O’Shea Jackson Jr. as two hired escorts assigned to deliver a wealthy teenager to a treatment facility. The film is set to open in theaters on August 28 through Independent Film Company.
Blair, best known for writing and directing the acclaimed indie film I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore, both wrote and directed Idiots. The story follows two down-on-their-luck misfits whose seemingly straightforward job quickly spirals into chaos during a cross-country journey.
The ensemble cast also features Mason Thames, Kiernan Shipka, Nicholas Braun, and Peter Dinklage, rounding out the film’s lineup.
