Lewis Pullman and Vanessa Kirby are set to collaborate outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on an exciting new sci-fi film. The pair will star as astronauts in The Spacesuit, a feature directed and written by acclaimed Australian filmmaker Kitty Green. Green is renowned for her work on the 2019 film The Assistant and the 2023 release The Royal Hotel.
According to Variety, The Spacesuit tells the story of an astronaut (Kirby) who faces an impossible choice after an incident involving her co-pilot (Pullman) leaves a lasting mark on their mission just days before launch. The film promises to deliver a tense, race-against-the-clock narrative and has been described as offering a “timely and provocative new perspective” on space exploration.
The project reunites Green with producers James Schamus and Scott Macaulay, along with Joe Pirro, Rita Walsh, and Kath Shelper. Vanessa Kirby will also serve as an executive producer alongside Juliet Kirby.
International sales for The Spacesuit will be handled by HanWay Films, which will launch the film at Cannes. In North America, UTA Independent Film Group and CAA Media Finance will represent the project.
