MGM+ has released the first look at American Hostage, an eight-episode crime thriller starring Jon Hamm that dramatizes a real 1977 standoff in Indianapolis. Jon Hamm portrays Fred Heckman, a radio reporter who finds himself caught in a life-or-death situation when Tony Kiritsis, wielding a shotgun, takes mortgage broker Dick Hall hostage and demands to be interviewed on Heckman’s popular news show. Giovanni Ribisi appears as Kiritsis, while Kristoffer Polaha plays Hall. The initial image offers a glimpse of Hamm inside the radio station, appearing slightly tense.
