Horror enthusiasts will soon have a new reason to be frightened, as the makers of The Blair Witch Project have announced their latest project. They are preparing to release a chilling new film titled Experiment 11, directed by Kevin Healey, known for creating the series Scare Tactics. According to Deadline, Experiment 11 is based on an original screenplay penned by Healey himself, who also serves as a producer alongside Eric Birnberg, Thomas Walden, Thomas Vencelides, and Lainie Elton. The legendary creators of The Blair Witch Project, Eduardo Sanchez and Gregg Hale, are attached as executive producers, along with Corey Tindall, Carson Howell, and Anthony Standberry.
The film is set in a mysterious medical research facility where a group of participants becomes embroiled in a rapidly intensifying experiment with deadly stakes that could impact the future of humanity. Healey shared his thoughts on the project, saying, “I’ve spent much of my career exploring the intersection of horror, realism, and social experimentation, so Experiment 11 feels like the culmination of everything I love creatively.” He added, “Working alongside Eduardo Sanchez and Gregg Hale — whose work on The Blair Witch Project revolutionized immersive horror — is a surreal experience for me.”
Healey describes Experiment 11 as “ambitious, experimental, and psychologically intense.” He believes the film will challenge the boundaries between “cinematic storytelling and reality,” offering audiences an experience unlike anything they’ve seen before.
Prestige International Pictures will be presenting sales for the film at the 2026 Cannes Market. An official release date has yet to be announced.
