Anya Taylor-Joy has been cast in the upcoming film The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, produced by New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures.
Directed by Andy Serkis, the film will feature Taylor-Joy as Seren, a Sindar Elf from the Woodland Realm. Seren is depicted as a loyal yet deadly agent serving King Thranduil, played by Pace.
Serkis will serve as both director and actor in the project, reprising his role as Gollum. The film brings together iconic characters from Middle-earth, including Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Elijah Wood as Frodo, and Lee Pace as Thranduil. Alongside Taylor-Joy, a new ensemble cast includes Kate Winslet as Marigol, Jamie Dornan as Strider, and Leo Woodall as Halvard.
The screenplay is crafted by Walsh and Boyens, with contributions from Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou. Warner Bros. Pictures is set to release The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum worldwide on December 17, 2027.
