Live Nation Studios Begins Production on Horror-Comedy ‘Youth Juice’

Live Nation Studios has officially launched production of Youth Juice, a horror-comedy set in Southern California. The film features a talented cast including Gideon Adlon (Euphoria), Luna Blaise (Jurassic World), Simon Rex (Red Rocket), and Jay Hernandez (Magnum P.I.).
Written by Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan—who previously co-wrote Netflix’s Academy Award-winning KPop Demon Hunters and are making their live-action feature debut—Youth Juice is described as a creepy satire exploring themes of aging and the extremes people will go to in their fight against getting older. A first-look still from the film has been shared above.

Jimenez and McMechan shared their inspiration with Deadline, explaining, “We wrote this during the pandemic, when we were both approaching 25, wasting away our youth indoors, going from miss to ma’am. At the time, it felt like a horror movie.”

Directed by Veronica Rodriguez, known for Disney’s upcoming Camp Rock 3, Youth Juice follows best friends Luna (Blaise) and Beni (Adlon) as they travel to Palm Springs to reclaim their youth, driven by fear of aging. Rodriguez describes the project as “something sexy, funny, and scary”—a film that’s both entertaining and unsettling, examining the bizarre lengths people will go to feel young again.

The film is produced by Rodriguez, Jimenez, and McMechan, alongside Jorge Garcia Castro for Altered.LA; Pete Corona for Ruta Media; Will Russell-Shapiro; Pat Lambert for Live Nation Studios; and Chris Abernathy and Eric B. Fleischman for The Wonder Company. Ryan Kroft and Michael Rapino serve as executive producers.
