Millicent Simmonds, known for her role in the A Quiet Place franchise, is set to co-write and star in Grace, a compelling crime thriller that marks the inaugural feature from Inevitable Foundation’s new production arm, Inevitable Studios.
The project is crafted by filmmakers Ari Costa and Eren Celeboglu, who also co-wrote the screenplay. Grace follows the story of a deaf teenager who uncovers dark and violent secrets hidden within her family’s past. This passion project has been in development for three years, developed alongside Simmonds. It serves as a follow-up to Costa and Celeboglu’s directorial debut, All Fun and Games (2023), a horror film starring Asa Butterfield and Natalie Dyer.
Production is led by Richie Siegel, Marissa Torelli-Pedevska, and Clarence Hammond for Inevitable Studios, a new banner launched by the founders of the non-profit Inevitable Foundation, which champions the stories of disabled individuals and promotes disabled creatives. Simmonds, Costa, and Celeboglu are also producing the film, with Olivia Handrahan overseeing production on behalf of Inevitable Studios. Filming is scheduled to begin early next year.
Siegel and Torelli-Pedevska of Inevitable Studios expressed their enthusiasm, stating, “Grace is exactly the kind of film we started Inevitable Studios to create. It’s a commercially driven story that happens to center on a deaf protagonist. We’re incredibly proud to bring this project to life with Millicent, Ari, and Eren and are excited for audiences to see it.”
