Freddy Carter Leads Cast in Sci-Fi Horror Film ‘Do Not Open’

Freddy Carter is set to star alongside Lulu Wilson (known for the Annabelle franchise), Mark McKenna (The Tourist), Stelio Savante (Sarah’s Oil), and Jeremy Gauna (1923) in the upcoming sci-fi horror movie Do Not Open.

The cast is rounded out by Jada Jay, Diletta Guglielmi, and singer-songwriter John Ford Coley. Filming is currently underway in Texas. Kristian McKay is both writing and directing the project, which draws inspiration from cult classics like Christine and Videodrome. The film is a contained supernatural thriller set inside a secluded Texas storage facility—described as “a place of forgotten stories, abandoned memories, locked metal doors, and lives people tried to leave behind.”

Harrison Kraft, known for his work on Lemonade Blessing—which earned a Best Cinematography nomination at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival—will serve as the cinematographer. The movie is produced by McKay’s Obscura Film, with executive producer Daunesh Alcott, and producers Kristian McKay and Stelio Savante. Notably, McKay’s previous horror thriller Kill Trip, also produced by Obscura, will be released in the U.S. on July 17 through Quiver Distribution. His acclaimed film Ventaja won the Golden Palm at the 2018 Mexico International Film Festival and the Audience Award at NewFilmmakers LA.

Savante’s production credits include Under The Stadium Lights (starring Laurence Fishburne) for Saban Films, What Remains (featuring Anne Heche, Cress Williams, and Kellan Lutz) for Gravitas Ventures, and Angry Neighbors (starring Frank Langella, Bobby Cannavale, and Ashley Benson) for Lionsgate.
