Multi-platinum singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Daniel Seavey has just released his latest solo EP, Dream Crusher, now available through Atlantic Records. The four-track collection follows Seavey’s recent sold-out performances at Blue Note in Los Angeles and New York, where he delivered a solo set featuring the EP tracks and more, utilizing a looper pedal.
Seavey has also been announced as part of the inaugural lineup for the Yours Always Music Festival, set to take place in Salt Lake City, UT, on October 2nd. He will perform alongside former tour-mates Benson Boone, Sombr, and others. For additional details, visit yoursalwaysslc.com.
Dream Crusher includes previously released singles “Time to Time (Annie)” and “Love’s a Gun.” The latter was accompanied by a music video directed by Matty Peacock (Billie Eilish, Shawn Mendes) and has become one of Seavey’s biggest hits to date. Both tracks gained popularity after debuting during his live performances supporting Charlie Puth on the North American Whatever’s Clever! Tour. During these shows, Seavey’s innovative use of a looper pedal—an experiment that began on his solo headline Second Wind Tour, which featured sold-out shows at The Novo in Los Angeles and Irving Plaza in New York City, before extending to Europe, Australia, and New Zealand—highlighted his impressive instrumental talents and continues to resonate with audiences worldwide (watch his performance here).
In his own words, Seavey reflects on his artistic journey: “For a long time, I made myself into whatever people needed. I was the yes man, the easy one, the people pleaser. These songs are me unlearning all of that and letting go of the version of myself that lived to keep everyone else comfortable. I stopped filling every room and heart I walked into, and for the first time, I left space for me.”
