Renowned director Michael Bay and filmmaker David Lowery, known for his work on A Ghost Story, are teaming up for a new horror project. The duo will co-produce a film based on the acclaimed novel The Fisherman by John Langan, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Published in 2016, The Fisherman tells the story of Abe and Dan, two widowers who form a friendship and escape their grief by going fishing in New York. Their journey leads them to an enigmatic and remote location called Dutchman’s Creek, reputed to allow visitors to see their loved ones. However, their peaceful excursion takes a dark turn when they encounter the mysterious and sinister Fisherman.
The novel has garnered high praise, winning the Bram Stoker Award for Best Novel. It is celebrated for its blend of cosmic and folk horror, making it a compelling choice for a cinematic adaptation.
