A new Deadpool movie appears to be in development at Marvel Studios, with franchise star Ryan Reynolds set to reprise his role. Reynolds confirmed the project during a panel at Fanatics Fest 2026 over the weekend.
Sources indicate that the film is still in the early stages of development, with no writer or director attached at this point. Reynolds shared his excitement about exploring more of Deadpool’s story, mentioning, “There are some really deep cuts that I think are missing behind the movies. Some of the comics have incredible material that hasn’t been adapted yet. Fabian Nicieza, who co-created Deadpool, and Gerry Duggan, a friend and talented comic writer, have contributed some great stories.”
Reynolds also expressed optimism about the future of Deadpool, stating, “There’s stuff upcoming. There’s eventually, you know, remotely another Deadpool film. It’s going to be great.” Marvel Studios has not officially commented on the project, and additional details remain under wraps.
