Sacha Baron Cohen’s latest Ali G film is no longer a mystery. In a humorous announcement video, the movie’s title and release date were officially revealed, ending weeks of anticipation and speculation. Rumors had circulated that Cohen had secretly filmed a new Ali G project, and now the actor has confirmed the details himself.
The film is titled Ali G: Who Iz I? — another milestone for the fictional British hip-hop star played by Cohen. Sharing the news on social media, Cohen posted a funny video captioned: “Dey haz finally made a documentary about me. And it ain’t like dat crap one about da penguins, dis one haz got at least twice as much animal s*x. Ali G: Who Iz I? Cominatcha on 10.23 wotever dat means.”
Cohen’s career highlights include interviewing high-profile figures like President Donald Trump and UN Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali. He first gained attention in 1998 when he introduced Ali G on Channel 4’s The 11 O’Clock Show. The character’s popularity soared with Da Ali G Show in the early 2000s, and he also starred in the 2002 film Ali G Indahouse. However, the movie received mixed reviews, primarily because it was a straightforward comedy featuring Cohen as Ali G, unlike his more acclaimed mockumentary-style HBO series. The film performed well internationally but did not get a theatrical release in the US.
Now, Cohen is aiming to reignite Ali G’s fame with this new project. Ali G: Who Iz I? is scheduled to hit theaters on October 23, 2026, promising to bring back the comedic chaos fans have come to love.
