Chad Powers is making a comeback with another season of the popular sports comedy TV show. Disney has announced the release date for Season 2, along with the first official photos, giving fans an exciting preview of what’s to come.
The new images showcase Glen Powell reprising his role as Chad Powers, as the South Georgia Catfish gear up for another football season. All six episodes of the upcoming season are scheduled to premiere on September 3, 2026.
Among the first-look photos, Chad and Ricky (played by Perry Mattfeld) are seen standing at the entrance of the Catfish stadium. Their serious expressions hint that challenges lie ahead on the field. In this season, Chad quickly rises to stardom, but his behavior off the field raises questions among those around him. Suspicion from Coach Jake Hudson and Gerry intensifies as the mystery surrounding Russ Holliday becomes harder to hide. As the college football season unfolds and the College Football Playoff nears, Russ and Danny must rely on Ricky to navigate the turbulence.
The series features Glen Powell as Russ Holliday/Chad Powers, with Perry Mattfeld portraying Ricky. The cast also includes Quentin Plair as Coach Byrd, Wynn Everett as Tricia Yeager, Frankie Rodriguez as Danny, and Steve Zahn as Coach Jake Hudson.
“Chad Powers” is inspired by the popular ESPN and Omaha Productions segment Eli’s Places. The sports comedy was co-created by Glen Powell and Michael Waldron and is produced by 20th Television.
Season 2 boasts a seasoned production team, with Eli Manning serving as an executive producer alongside other Omaha Productions executives, including Peyton Manning, Jamie Horowitz, and Ben Brown. ESPN executives Burke Magnus, Brian Lockhart, and Craig Lazarus also serve as executive producers. Additionally, Glen Powell is an executive producer, collaborating with Dan Cohen from Barnstorm Productions.
