Netflix has unveiled the final trailer for Outer Banks Season 5, offering fans one last glimpse at the Pogues as the hit adventure drama heads toward its emotional conclusion. The fifth and final season promises to put the group through their most dangerous battle yet, with revenge taking center stage as they set out to settle the score.
The new trailer is packed with the high-stakes action that has become synonymous with Outer Banks, featuring motorcycle pursuits, violent storms at sea, explosive boat chases and plenty of danger. As the Pogues close in on Chandler Groff and the stolen Blue Crown, their final mission appears to be driven by something far more personal than the search for treasure.
Kiara, meanwhile, is still struggling with the devastating loss of JJ. Previous footage revealed that her grief has pushed her deeper into the mysterious legend surrounding the Blue Crown, which is rumored to possess the power to bring the dead back to life. With JJ’s death still fresh in her mind, the possibility of reversing what happened could prove impossible for her to ignore.
According to Netflix’s official synopsis, “Season 5 finds the Pogues at their absolute breaking point following the tragic loss of JJ in Morocco. Stranded far from home and mourning the heart of their crew, they’ve lost the Blue Crown and continue to face a gauntlet of familiar threats.”
The emotional fallout stems from the shocking events of Season 4. During the Pogues’ mission in Morocco, Groff betrayed the group and fatally stabbed JJ in exchange for Kiara’s life. He then escaped with the Blue Crown, leaving the Pogues powerless to save their friend.
JJ ultimately died in Kiara’s arms as the rest of the group looked on, marking one of the series’ most heartbreaking moments. By the end of the season, the Pogues had lost both one of their closest friends and the treasure they had spent so much time pursuing.
The final season brings back returning stars Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Drew Starkey, Carlacia Grant, Austin North, Fiona Palomo, J. Anthony Crane and Cullen Moss.
After years of treasure hunts, betrayals and increasingly dangerous adventures, Outer Banks is now preparing to bring the Pogues’ story to an end. With JJ’s death hanging over the group and Groff still in possession of the Blue Crown, their final chapter looks set to be as emotional as it is explosive.
All 10 episodes of Outer Banks Season 5 will premiere exclusively on Netflix on August 20, 2026.
