Lindsay Weisberg is a California-born, New York City-raised actress working across film, TV, and theatre. She attended Dartmouth College, initially pursuing pre-med studies before transferring to NYU Tisch School of the Arts to study acting. In her first production following graduation, she received a Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Play. She then went on to earn her MFA in Acting from the University of Southern California. In addition to her acting career, Lindsay has a master’s degree in neuroscience from Columbia University and is a former competitive downhill skier.
1. Lindsay, welcome to OLC! You’ve had a remarkable journey from competitive downhill skier to decorated scholar and now a rising actress. What initially sparked your passion for acting, and how did your experiences in skiing and academia shape the performer you are today?
Thank you!
I was good at doing the things that were expected of me, but I wanted to do something different, something that was just for me, where I wasn’t going for any result. So I took an acting class the year before I went to Dartmouth. And here I am.
My background has taught me discipline, to show up every day, and to trust that I have my own journey. There is something very athletic about being on set. You have to stay open and ready to go because things are constantly changing, and you have to adapt in the moment.
2. You started at Dartmouth pursuing pre-med before transitioning to NYU Tisch and later earning an MFA from USC along with a master’s degree in neuroscience from Columbia. How has your scientific background influenced your approach to character development and emotional storytelling?
I spent three years in a neuroscience lab studying human emotion. I was working with a PhD student on a research study, and I often ran participants through the experiment by myself. One day, one participant was so scared by a short video clip he backed himself against the wall to protect himself. I calmed him down, and he was okay. I felt terrible.
People are just so fascinating. For me, acting is a better place to explore that than standing in a classroom holding a brain.
3. You’re currently streaming as Cat in Special Ops: Rent-a-Cop on Prime Video. What drew you to this role?
It was so different! Working with veteran comedic actors and an action star was so much fun. Cat has absolutely no moral code and no work ethic, which was very different from characters I’ve played before.
4. Your next feature, Cotton Fever, Daniel Blake Schwartz’s directorial debut, premiered at Tribeca alongside a stellar cast including Kyle Gallner, Sosie Bacon, and Chabely Ponce. What was it like working on this project, and what aspects of the story or your character excited you most?
This was a very personal story for Daniel about addiction and recovery. I wanted to add to the tapestry of that story in an honest way.
5. You will appear in the upcoming film Lethia, which touches on dementia. Can you share more about this project?
This project was really special. It was an all-female cast with a female writer, producer, and director, and it touched on a topic that affects someone very close to me.
Working on this film, I learned quite a lot. I hope people come away remembering that even when someone has dementia, there is still a person there to love and connect with.
6. In Gangland, you appear opposite Lou Diamond Phillips, Irene Bedard, and Nick Stahl. What was the experience like on that set, and how does this role fit into your growing body of work?
I absolutely loved this experience. Katie was a cop with a strong point of view and a strong moral compass. I really enjoy playing characters like that, and I think you can probably expect to see me in similar roles in the future.
7. You’re set to recur in the highly anticipated 2027 Netflix limited series All the Sinners Bleed alongside Sope Dirisu, Daniel Ezra, Andrea Cortés, and Miller Rae. Without spoilers, what can you tell us about your character and why this project feels significant for you?
I can say that this is going to be an incredible project. Every single person I met on that set was grateful to be there. There was such a collaborative spirit and great talent both in front of and behind the camera.
8. As a multidisciplinary artist with a strong academic foundation, what advice would you give to young performers who are also balancing scholarly pursuits or athletic backgrounds with their creative ambitions?
At USC, we were each given a mentor. Mine told me, “Don’t lose the science. Keep doing the other things you love.”
At the time, I thought, “Absolutely not.”
She was completely right. I ended up going back and getting a master’s degree in neuroscience, and I’m so glad I did. It’s important to keep doing the things that fulfill you. They don’t take away from your art. They add to it.
9. With such a packed slate of releases this year and into 2027, how are you staying grounded and preparing for what looks like a major breakout period in your career?
I do the things I love, which usually means being outside in nature and getting some form of exercise. Skiing…you probably don’t want to get me started on the different kinds of skiing I do. Right now, I’m really into skate skiing. Hiking, lifting. And ideally, something where I can bring Harold, my dog.
10. Looking ahead, what kinds of roles or stories are you most excited to explore next, and is there a dream project or collaboration on your horizon that particularly inspires you?
I’m so grateful for what’s come my way, and I hope to continue to be surprised by the next project. That’s where I’m at right now.
