Amy Sedaris is the latest star to join the cast of Protective Custody, the upcoming Apple TV comedy series starring Ben Stiller and Benicio Del Toro.
Sedaris, best known for her work on the Emmy-nominated truTV series At Home with Amy Sedaris, is set to appear alongside Stiller and Del Toro in the series, which Apple TV picked up in May. Details about her character are currently being kept under wraps.
Created by Mike Judge, Steve Hely and Dave King, Protective Custody centers on a disgraced financier accused of orchestrating massive fraud. After being placed in protective custody, he must navigate the complicated politics of prison life while attempting to rebuild his reputation and face the consequences of his actions as he awaits trial.
Judge, Hely and King will co-write and co-showrun the series, with Judge also directing. The trio will executive produce alongside Ben Silverman, Howard Owens and Rodney Ferrell for Propagate Content.
Stiller and John Lesher will executive produce for Red Hour, while Michael Rotenberg and Oly Obst will serve as executive producers for 3 Arts Entertainment. Nanette Burstein and Blair Breard are also attached as executive producers.
With a cast led by Stiller and Del Toro and a creative team that includes Beavis and Butt-Head and Silicon Valley creator Mike Judge, Protective Custody is shaping up to be an intriguing addition to Apple TV’s comedy lineup.
