Beth Behrs Joining Kat Dennings For ABC’s ‘Shifting Gears’ Season 3

Beth Behrs, known for her roles in The Neighborhood and 2 Broke Girls, is joining the cast of ABC’s Shifting Gears for its upcoming third season.

Behrs will guest star as Dr. Johnson, a talented and attractive emergency room physician who treats Riley, played by Kat Dennings, after she suffers a back injury. The role also marks a reunion for Behrs and Dennings, who previously starred together on 2 Broke Girls. Behrs will also work again with Shifting Gears executive producer and showrunner Michelle Nader.

Shifting Gears centers on Matt, played by Tim Allen, a stubborn widower who owns a classic car restoration shop. His life takes an unexpected turn when his estranged daughter, Riley, moves into his home with her children. As they adjust to living together, Matt and Riley are forced to confront their complicated relationship while navigating life as a family under one roof.

The series stars Seann William Scott as Gabriel, Daryl Mitchell as Stitch, Maxwell Simkins as Carter, and Barrett Margolis as Georgia. Tim Allen executive produces alongside Michelle Nader, Bob Daily, Jim Patterson, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Richard Baker, Rick Messina, and John Amodeo. Dennings also serves as a producer. The series is produced by 20th Television.

Behrs most recently starred as Gemma on CBS’ long-running comedy The Neighborhood, which wrapped its eight-season run in May. She is also widely recognized for playing Caroline Channing on 2 Broke Girls, the CBS comedy created by Michael Patrick King and Whitney Cummings.

Her other credits include voice roles in the animated films Boonie Bears: The Big Shrink and Pixar’s Monsters University. Behrs is represented by CAA, Anonymous Content, and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum Matlof and Fishman.
