Catriona Chandler, known for Disney+’s Rivals, has been cast in the title role of HBO’s upcoming true-crime limited series The Trial of Louise Woodward.
Also joining the cast is Downton Abbey star Joanne Froggatt, who will portray Louise Woodward’s mother, Susan.
Created by Matthew Barry, who serves as showrunner, writer and executive producer, The Trial of Louise Woodward revisits the highly publicized 1997 case involving 18-year-old British au pair Louise Woodward.
Woodward was accused of shaking to death a baby boy who had been left in her care by her American host family. The case quickly attracted worldwide attention, sparking an international media frenzy as the trial played out under intense scrutiny from audiences in both Britain and the United States.
The series will explore the events surrounding the case and the trial that captivated the public on both sides of the Atlantic.
