Ella Purnell’s Rhiannon Lewis is stepping into a new chapter of her life in the trailer for Sweetpea Season 2—but her murderous impulses are coming along for the ride.
The new season finds Rhiannon enjoying a major promotion at the Carnsham Gazette while exploring a new romance with Gabriel, played by Rish Shah. Despite her professional success and blossoming relationship, however, Rhiannon remains haunted by her ex AJ’s claim that she is a monster.
Things become even more complicated when a mysterious copycat killer begins committing murders using a method similar to Rhiannon’s. As the new killer’s actions threaten to expose her darkest secret, Rhiannon must find a way to protect herself while dealing with the consequences of her violent double life.
The trailer also features a late-night conversation between Rhiannon and a diner waitress, played by Jenny Walser. During their heart-to-heart, Rhiannon reflects on AJ’s accusations. The waitress, unaware of Rhiannon’s murderous secret, encourages her to stay true to herself.
Rather than rejecting her darker side, Rhiannon appears to take the advice literally. Declaring, “Do you know what? I’m gonna live my truth!”, she seems ready to fully embrace the person she has become—and potentially add even more victims to her growing list.
Jon Pointing, Jeremy Swift, Leah Harvey, Ingrid Oliver, Nitin Ganatra, and Alexandra Dowling are also returning for Season 2. New additions to the cast include Tamsin Greig and Taj Atwal, joining Shah and Walser.
Sweetpea Season 2 is set to premiere on Sky in November, before arriving on Starz in early 2027.
