Barry Keoghan is set to return to the world of Top Boy, with the acclaimed actor leading Netflix’s upcoming five-episode prequel series, Jonny Boy.
According to an exclusive report from The Hollywood Reporter, Keoghan will reprise his role as Jonny McGee, the character he introduced in the third and final season of the hit crime drama. The new series is being produced by Cowboy Films, with rapper Drake returning as an executive producer after previously working on Top Boy, which earned a BAFTA.
Keoghan will also serve as a co-producer alongside Des Bryne through Wolfcub Productions. The project’s executive producers include Ali Abbasi, Maverick Carter, and Jamal Henderson for SpringHill Studios, as well as Ronan Bennett for Easter Partisan Films and Charles Steel and Alasdair Flind for Cowboy Films.
