Samuel L. Jackson is trading the Oval Office for the driver’s seat in The Beast, an upcoming action thriller that puts the President of the United States behind the wheel of one of the world’s most heavily protected vehicles.
The film, which evokes the high-stakes action of movies such as Olympus Has Fallen, follows the President as he attempts to survive a mercenary coup that has brought the U.S. government under attack. With enemies closing in, the President is forced to rely on the only weapon at his disposal: the presidential state car, famously known as “The Beast.”
A newly released trailer offers the first extended look at Jackson in the role of the President. After the coup plunges the country into chaos, his character finds himself fighting to stay alive while navigating The Beast through increasingly dangerous situations. Joining him is a Secret Service agent played by The Suicide Squad star Joel Kinnaman, while Guy Burnet is also part of the cast.
The trailer puts The Beast itself front and center, showcasing just how much punishment the heavily armored vehicle can withstand. It also highlights some of the unexpected features packed inside the presidential limousine, including a mini fridge stocked with alcohol. Rather than simply serving as transportation, The Beast becomes an essential part of the President’s fight for survival.
There is also room for some humor amid the chaos. At one point, Kinnaman’s character takes notice of Jackson’s distinctive delivery of a certain profanity and attempts to imitate the actor’s signature pronunciation. It is a playful nod to Jackson’s famously memorable performances, particularly his role in Pulp Fiction.
The Beast is directed by Renny Harlin, the filmmaker behind action hits including Die Hard 2 and Cliffhanger. With Jackson and Kinnaman leading the cast, the movie aims to combine explosive action with the kind of larger-than-life set pieces associated with Harlin’s work.
The film is scheduled to hit theaters on October 9, 2026.
Aura Entertainment secured the film’s distribution rights in 2026. Commenting on the acquisition, CEO Marc Goldberg praised the project’s star power and action credentials, saying the movie represents exactly the kind of big-screen spectacle that can draw audiences back to theaters.
With Samuel L. Jackson playing a President who must literally drive himself out of a national crisis, The Beast could offer a distinctly wild take on the modern action thriller when it arrives this fall.
