Dominic West and Sienna Miller are heading into a very public and very messy divorce in the newly released trailer for HBO and Sky’s upcoming legal drama WAR.
Created by George Kay, the writer behind Lupin and Hijack, the eight-episode series explores what happens when a high-profile marriage becomes the centre of an explosive legal battle involving two of London’s most powerful law firms.
West stars as Morgan Henderson, a successful tech entrepreneur whose marriage to international film star Carla Duval, played by Miller, has spectacularly broken down. What begins as a divorce soon develops into a battle involving money, reputations, corporate interests and damaging secrets.
The trailer teases a case being described as potentially the biggest divorce trial in British legal history. Both Morgan and Carla are determined to establish themselves as the wronged party, while their respective legal teams prepare to do whatever it takes to secure victory.
The battle brings rival firms Taylor & Byrne and Cathcarts & Sons into direct conflict. As the lawyers begin digging for leverage, the divorce develops into an increasingly aggressive public relations war, with confidential information even finding its way across the courtroom divide.
Archie Renaux (Alien: Romulus) plays ambitious young lawyer Jonathan “Johnny” Warren, who finds himself drawn deeper into the increasingly ruthless world surrounding the case.
The cast also features Phoebe Fox as Serena Byrne and James McArdle as Nicholas Taylor, the partners behind Taylor & Byrne, while Nina Sosanya plays Beatrice “Queen Bea” Ubosi and Pip Torrens portrays St John Smallwood for rival firm Cathcarts & Sons. Celia Imrie, Nick Mohammed, Emma Laird and Archie Panjabi are also part of the ensemble.
Kay created, wrote and executive produced the series, with Ben Taylor serving as lead director. The drama is produced by New Pictures and Observatory Pictures in association with Sky and HBO.
WAR will premiere on HBO and HBO Max on October 1, 2026, with episodes released weekly. The UK premiere will follow on October 2 on Sky and NOW.
The series has already been renewed for a second season, which will move away from the Henderson-Duval divorce and focus on another major legal battle. Marisa Tomei, Kelly Macdonald and David Harewood have been announced for the next chapter.
