Netflix is reopening the doors to the Undervale Hotel, and if the new trailer for Haunted Hotel Season 2 is anything to go by, things are about to get even stranger.
The adult animated comedy is returning for a second season on October 9, with eight new episodes set to continue the bizarre adventures of Katherine and her dysfunctional family as they attempt to keep their increasingly supernatural hotel running.
Created by Matt Roller, known for his work on Rick and Morty, Haunted Hotel follows single mother Katherine Freeling, voiced by Eliza Coupe, as she tries to turn the Undervale into a legitimate business while dealing with ghosts, demons and an endless parade of paranormal problems.
Her family includes her ghostly brother Nathan, voiced by Will Forte, as well as her children Ben and Esther. Jimmi Simpson also returns as the delightfully unpredictable Abaddon, a powerful demon trapped inside the body of a young boy.
The Season 2 trailer immediately establishes that the supernatural residents aren’t becoming any easier to manage. In fact, the hotel appears to be attracting an even more bizarre collection of creatures.
One particularly amusing moment sees Abaddon confronted by a terrifying monster. Rather than being frightened, however, he becomes fascinated by his potential attacker and compliments the creature, much to Katherine’s frustration.
As Katherine attempts to establish some semblance of order, the Undervale is finally starting to resemble a genuine hotel business. Unfortunately, being a legitimate establishment doesn’t mean the paranormal guests are going anywhere.
The trailer teases a series of increasingly outrageous encounters, including witches, monsters, ghosts and a gigantic shark named Beluga. There are also glimpses of the Freeling family facing mysterious creatures and finding themselves in some extremely dangerous situations.
Adding another layer to the chaos, Katherine decides that the hotel needs a new employee. That newcomer is about to discover that working at the Undervale comes with considerably more hazards than the average hospitality job.
The returning voice cast features Will Forte as Nathan, Eliza Coupe as Katherine, Skyler Gisondo as Ben, Natalie Palamides as Esther and Jimmi Simpson as Abaddon.
Behind the scenes, Roller returns as creator and showrunner, with Erica Hayes serving as supervising director. Chris McKenna, Dan Harmon, Steve Levy and Roller executive produce, while Titmouse once again handles the animation.
Following its debut in 2025, Haunted Hotel quickly earned a second-season renewal from Netflix. Season 2 looks set to maintain the show’s combination of adult comedy, family dynamics and supernatural mayhem while expanding the strange world surrounding the Undervale.
Haunted Hotel Season 2 premieres October 9, 2026, exclusively on Netflix.
