The upcoming Street Fighter movie is putting its video game roots front and centre, with a new teaser showcasing a huge selection of iconic moves recreated for the big screen.
The latest footage offers fans a closer look at the film’s action and fight choreography, bringing familiar techniques from the legendary Capcom fighting franchise into live action. Among the moves featured are the Dragonlash Kick, Shoryuken, Spinning Bird Kick, Buffalo Headbutt and Hundred Hand Slaps.
The teaser is packed with recognisable attacks from across the Street Fighter roster. Ken’s arsenal includes the Dragonlash Kick, Hell Wheel, Chin Buster and Shoryuken, while Ryu is represented through moves including the Tatsumaki Senpu-Kyaku.
Chun-Li also gets plenty of attention, with her Spinning Bird Kick, Falling Crane, Hundred Lightning Kicks and Hazanshu making appearances.
The footage continues to highlight the distinctive fighting styles of several other characters. Dhalsim’s Yoga Mummy, Karma Kick and Yoga Mountain are featured alongside E. Honda’s Sumo Headbutt, Oicho Throw and Power Stomp. Balrog’s Buffalo Headbutt and Crazy Rush, Guile’s Flash Kick, and Zangief’s Russian Suplex and Cyclone Lariat are also showcased.
The approach gives the new movie a direct visual connection to the games, with the live-action performances echoing the exaggerated attacks that have become synonymous with the franchise.
Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the film stars Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centineo as Ken and Callina Liang as Chun-Li. The extensive ensemble also includes Jason Momoa as Blanka, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog and David Dastmalchian as M. Bison.
Set in 1993, the story follows Ryu and Ken as they find themselves drawn into the World Warrior Tournament after Chun-Li brings them into the competition. What begins as a battle between some of the world’s greatest fighters develops into a larger conflict.
With the new teaser specifically highlighting the signature attacks fans know from the games, Street Fighter is clearly embracing the visual language of its source material as it heads toward the big screen.
Street Fighter is set to arrive in cinemas on October 16, 2026.
