Dominic Sessa is set to headline Shades of Paradise, the upcoming action feature from filmmaker Weston Razooli.
Written and directed by Razooli, the film was recently completed in Spain. The story follows four small-time criminals whose lives spiral into an odyssey of violence and betrayal after a jewel heist goes awry.
The movie was shot on 2-perf 35mm film by cinematographer Simone D’Arcangelo, whose credits include The Settlers.
Sessa is joined by an ensemble cast that includes Jack Dylan Grazer, Naira Lleo, Najwa Nimri, Rojuu, Zack Harrod, Teru Castilla Serrano, Romann Berrux, Rhys Mitchell and Stanislav Baretsky.
Oscar-nominated producer Andrew Morrison, of Kaplan Morrison, produced the project.
Shades of Paradise marks Razooli’s follow-up to his feature debut, Riddle of Fire. The film premiered in the Directors’ Fortnight section of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival before going on to screen in TIFF’s Midnight Madness program.
Razooli took on several roles behind and in front of the camera on Riddle of Fire, serving as writer-director as well as an actor, editor and creator of the film’s costumes and props.
