Victoria Monét gave fans the date months ago, and she meant it. After a summer of teasing it as simply “10.2.26,” the Grammy-winning singer has finally released Frequency of Love, a 22-track love letter with SZA, Bruno Mars and one very special guest: her daughter, Hazel.

Out now via Lovett Music and RCA Records, the album is Monét’s sophomore studio record and her first full-length project since 2023’s Jaguar II. That album won Best R&B Album at the Grammys on the same night she took home Best New Artist, so the bar was set sky high. Monét, now a three-time Grammy winner, clearly wasn’t interested in playing it safe.

A ’90s R&B Era, Loaded With Friends

If Jaguar II lived in the ’70s, this one moves the clock forward. “Jaguar II was R&B, but it was set in the era of the ’70s,” Monét said in July. “This feels more like ’90s R&B.” She also called the project “so, so R&B,” and executive producer Camper went even further: “This is probably going to go down as one of my best bodies of work.”

Monét reunited with longtime collaborator D’Mile, with Kaytranada and Camper also in the mix. And the guest list is stacked. SZA joins her on “See You in My Dreams,” Bruno Mars appears on “That’s Why I Love You,” Lucky Daye slides onto “Maybe,” Bryson Tiller turns up on “Single” and Chlöe teams with her on “Lose Myself.”

The sweetest credit of all belongs to Hazel Monét, who appears alongside Leon Thomas on “You Mean the World to Me.” The family affair doesn’t stop there, either. Monét’s mother, cousin and aunt join the Sunday Service Choir on “No Love Like Yours (Interlude).” Across the album, she explores love in all its forms: love of self, love for others and love for her five-year-old daughter, along with what it feels like to step back into dating while balancing work.

When Monét revealed the tracklist with a cinematic trailer, her peers were already hyped. “This album is about to be insanityyyyy. grateful to be apart,” Chlöe commented, while JoJo predicted, “Wow this is about to be a CLASSIC.”

The Singles, and What Comes Next

Fans got three very different previews on the road to release day. “Let Me” topped the Adult R&B Airplay chart in June, “Reach Out” arrived in July with D’Mile and Kaytranada pushing her toward the dance floor, and “Juicy,” produced by D’Mile with Spencer Stewart and Michaël Brun, dropped Sept. 10 as the final taste.

Monét also spent part of the year on the road with Bruno Mars, joining his Romantic Tour as a special guest. Now she’s headed out on her own. The Frequency of Love Tour kicks off Oct. 27 at Raleigh’s Red Hat Amphitheater, hits major cities including New York, Toronto and Nashville, and wraps Dec. 17 at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

Twenty-two tracks is a lot of love to unpack, so get started: Frequency of Love is streaming now, including on Apple Music.

So tell us: which track is already on repeat for you? Are you Team SZA, Team Bruno, or is little Hazel stealing the whole show?

What's your reaction?
