Kylie Jenner is stepping into a major new acting role with Bachelorette Weekend (working title), a thriller drama that is nearing a straight-to-series order at Hulu, according to Deadline.
The project marks Jenner’s first major scripted role and represents another step into Hollywood for the reality star, entrepreneur and social media personality. Her career move mirrors that of her older sister, Kim Kardashian, who has expanded beyond reality television and business into acting and producing.
Kardashian is also attached to Bachelorette Weekend as an executive producer, joining Jenner on the project. The series was created by author and screenwriter Lauren Oliver and is being produced by Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment.
The story centers on a bachelorette weekend that takes a deadly turn when the bride, played by Jenner, is found murdered in a swimming pool. As the investigation unfolds, her closest friends become suspects, with the series gradually revealing the events that led to her death.
Jenner’s character serves as the central figure of the mystery, described as the “North Star” of the series as the narrative pieces together what happened before the murder.
Jenner, Kardashian and Oliver will executive produce alongside Aaron Kaplan, while Jaiden Kaplan will serve as co-executive producer. Kapital Entertainment is producing the series with 20th Television.
Bachelorette Weekend is based on an unpublished novel by Flora Collins, which was developed by Oliver’s intellectual-property packaging company, StoryGiants. Oliver wrote the television adaptation, which was developed internally at Kapital Entertainment by Aaron Kaplan and Jaiden Kaplan.
