The terrifying world of Talk to Me is expanding with I Let You In, a new six-episode immersive horror series that will bring the franchise’s sinister supernatural mythology to Meta’s virtual reality platforms in spring 2027.
Commissioned by Meta, the upcoming series will be available exclusively on Meta Quest headsets and Meta VR Glasses, offering audiences a new way to experience the unsettling world of spirit possession first introduced in the hit Australian horror film.
The first-look artwork for I Let You In has now been unveiled, providing an early glimpse at the next chapter in the growing horror universe created by Australian filmmakers Danny and Michael Philippou.
Set in Ibiza, the series follows a group of young travellers searching for the ultimate party experience. Their pursuit of excitement takes a dangerous turn when they discover the intoxicating thrill of summoning spirits, drawing them into a supernatural world with potentially deadly consequences.
Craig William Macneill, known for his work on Them and The Terror, directs all six episodes, with Trent Atherton writing the series from a concept developed with showrunner Darren Brandl.
The cast features Aubri Ibrag (The Buccaneers), Charlotte Maggi (Rebel Moon), Sofia Hublitz (Ozark), Julio Peña (Berlin), Raff Law (Masters of the Air) and Charlie Hiscock (Ted Lasso).
The project is produced by XRTV, the immersive entertainment studio founded by Darren Brandl and Jack Davis, with the involvement of Talk to Me production company Causeway Films. Danny and Michael Philippou are also executive producing, alongside Brandl, Davis and other members of the creative and production teams.
Speaking about the project, Brandl highlighted the potential of bringing Talk to Me into an immersive format. The original film explored the dangerous appeal of communicating with the dead, with its characters becoming captivated by the rush of possession before discovering the horrifying consequences.
That premise lends itself naturally to virtual reality, where the audience can be placed closer to the supernatural experience rather than simply watching events unfold on screen.
The series wrapped filming in Spain earlier in 2026 and is currently in post-production ahead of its planned spring 2027 debut.
Released in 2023, Talk to Me became an international horror success after premiering at the Sundance Film Festival. The film follows a group of friends who use an embalmed hand to contact spirits, turning possession into a dangerous party game that spirals out of control. Its disturbing imagery, inventive supernatural concept and psychological tension helped establish the Philippou brothers as prominent voices in contemporary horror.
With I Let You In, the franchise is venturing beyond traditional cinema into immersive storytelling, potentially giving fans an entirely new way to engage with its nightmarish mythology.
The spin-off is not the only project expanding the franchise, with the Philippou brothers also developing a direct sequel, Talk 2 Me. For horror fans, the combination of new stories and emerging technology promises to keep the world of Talk to Me alive well beyond its original theatrical release.
I Let You In is expected to arrive exclusively on Meta’s Quest headsets and VR Glasses in spring 2027.
