Bill Murray is trading Hollywood for the golf courses of Ireland in the newly released trailer for A Course Called Ireland, an upcoming six-part documentary series arriving on Paramount+ this October.

The series follows Murray alongside author and golf enthusiast Tom Coyne as they embark on a journey across Ireland, exploring its legendary golf courses, breathtaking landscapes and local culture. Blending golf, travel and comedy, the series promises plenty of unscripted moments as the pair discover what makes the country so special.

The project is also a fitting return to the golfing world for Murray, whose iconic performance as Carl Spackler in the 1980 comedy Caddyshack remains one of his most memorable roles.

Bill Murray’s Irish Golf Adventure Brings Together Friends and Famous Faces

The newly released trailer offers a glimpse into Murray and Coyne’s travels, with the pair joined by family members and celebrity friends. The group includes Murray’s brothers Joel and John Murray, Irish actor Chris O’Dowd, comedian Joanne McNally and former NFL star Jason Kelce.

While golf is at the heart of the series, the adventure extends well beyond the fairways. The trailer showcases the group attending sporting events, singing, playing cricket, fishing and riding horses, offering a lively look at their experiences throughout the country.

Murray also shares his personal connection to Ireland, reflecting on his fondness for returning to the country and describing it as a special place. The footage balances the scenic beauty of the Irish landscape with the humour and camaraderie that develop as the group travels together.

At its core, A Course Called Ireland is a story about friendship, discovery and the unexpected experiences that can come from taking the scenic route. The series draws inspiration from Coyne’s bestselling book, A Course Called Ireland: A Long Walk in Search of a Country, a Pint, and the Next Tee.
